transformers 2 dvd not playing

sooo i just borrowed transformers 2 from a friend and tried to play it in my computer. its a legit copy but keeps saying 'copy protection signal detected, playback stopped'. is it because my dvd drive is also a dvd writer?

all i want to do is watch a fucking movie without hollywood thinking im a god damn criminal. might as well try to find it online...

lol that's ridiculous, they're getting too overprotective imo.

Hardly any "copy protection" actually stops pirates that want to pirate that stuff, it just hinders people that actually just want to buy and watch it legit, very few anti-pirate or copy protection mechanisms work effectively and without hindering honest customers. :<

wat...

you can't use a computer as a dvd player anymore if it's hooked up via HDMI? That's a damn shame if that's what the new movies are doing, considering I don't have a DVD player hooked up to every TV of my house. If I wanna watch a DVD in my bedroom or the family room I'll just pop it in my laptop and connect it to the big screen.

thats strange...

Are you sure that was the problem? I know a lot of movies or software won't run if they detect any virtual drives or protection removal programs (like AnyDVD) running.

the difference is that rgb isnt hdcp compliant.. only hdmi is, so try and play it through rgb..it thinks you could be ripping the movie, so it stonewalls you
