Just venting. I'm so incredibly tired of the increasing amount of drifters and the dwindling amount of average regulars. 5 nights out of the past week have been pathetic games for hours upon hours. This is because they don't respond if you speak to them in chat, instantly take one of the sacred engie slots, and most importantly, usually suck and/or troll. I know i don't speak out much, but I'm angry. Has anyone else noticed this? Regulars come back!

I know I've not been around like some of you, but i feel as though I've made friends and that lots of people know me. Stompfest is MY ONLY server because i play with good players but also friendly players who don't scream at you if your medic and do something stupid and die. So let's put The Stomp in OUR Stompfest.

Well, for a lot of people (like me) exams are approaching so that may be a factor for the lack of regulars. This means gaming sessions and late nights are limited to the weekends. Maybe you haven't gone out of your way to either make friends with people so that stay or you're ignoring the quieter players?

Vindicator has a point. Its that time of the semester where exams and final projects are starting to become a nuisance. I honestly haven't played a came in a month or two because of school and my military commitments. On top of that, the community has been struggling to keep regulars for a while now, but Panda and the rest of the staff have been working to fix that.

TF2 just doesn't bring in the number of players that it used to either.

There's plenty of regulars playing the past two weeks. Maybe you just need to realize that who you consider regulars aren't the only regulars.

i didn't say all the regulars went away, but i remember not too long ago when i looked at the 24 players and recognized at least 16 of them because they were actively online. I'm venting about drifters, not really about regulars. I Apologize.

Drifters are good. Every regular starts as a drifter at some point. Being cordial and friendly to a "drifter" that you find enjoying to play with can help lead to making them a new regular. Branch out and start recognizing more people and make more people want to come back.

Pretty much this. I attracted tons of friend requests and kept people around SF back when I was an admin by simply answering questions and being an overall nice guy.

For obvious reasons people are more willing to stick around when the admins act less like ass hats and more like friends.
