It's the number of hours you've played demo. He's using it to seed everyone.

this is exciting, i like the seed idea! and i just realized that this means that certain matches will have to get done before others can proceed.

and i still dont see E on that list..*cough*signupnow*cough* :D

Sweeeet..E is in! So I take it that if E wins his first match, then I get to play him?

i must break you [insert Ivan Drago pic here]

The bracket thus far shows 2 games need to be played before anyone even plays you, Timmah. which is great, because you'll hold up the competition otherwise :) If we get all 32/32 though, my guess is that you'll actually play E first round.

General Statistics

Mean 79
Median 65
SD 67
Range 278
Sum 2120

I predict that the winner will have over 80 hours of play time as demo. :P

I predict Eclyps, undefeated.

Would it be that much harder or cause a lot more trouble to make it double elimination? Single elim always just seems bad to me, because if you play just a single match poorly, you're out. Also, more elims per player makes the final standings more accurately reflect the players' actual demo skill levels without regards to their starting bracket. I realize there is a trade-off between that and time spent playing and keeping track as well as effort on your part Blone, but if you don't mind <3

Actually it wouldn't have been that hard to make it double elimination, but its more of a time issue than an effort issue. I don't want this to last forever. Doubling elimination doubles the amount of matches to be played. The seeding is important here because the best should still come out on top or at least be in the later matches. There is also a time issue on my part on my part where I won't have time to go back and change it to double elimination.

I realize this kindof cuts the competition short for those who lose their first match, but its really the most efficient way to run a 1v1 competition like this where we have 28 entrants.

My suggestion: warm up hardcore before your scheduled match time, and play nothing but demo in pubs. Make suggestions earlier in the process for the next competition (each one goes into consideration while making the rules).

So, I downloaded the map from FPSBanana just to see what it was like. Noticed there weren't any lights in the center area and the bottles were all chrome and shiny-like, but I though it was just the way the map was. Then, after Bob had crushed me 10-0, I was like, "Does this map look all dark to you too?", and Bob was like "No, looks fine". So it turns out I was at a slight disadvantage as you can see from the following screenshots. I'm sorry I didn't ask about this earlier. I'd be willing to admit defeat to Bobalicious because he's obviously a superior demoman, but if there's any chance of a re-match, I'd appreciate that.

Check my note in the rules thread. You had to turn HDR off.
