It's usually whenever there are <10 ppl on IRS or FRS until more people join. Usually what... anywhere between 9am to noon? Not a set time. Basically someone will just suggest "melee only?" in chat and both sides will agree. If an admin is on as well, we will often initiate an alltalk vote for some good trashtalk. But once it starts filling up more, it naturally goes into more serious gameplay - especially when someone goes engy and builds a sentry or if anyone starts using non-melee weapons at all and refuses to stop.

Woohoo, I was quoted! That was the most epic melee only ever. However, I'll never forget Shango's use of a sentry in the beginning. That hurt me. That hurt me deep.

im glad you posted this ..me and kavorkian started it this morning after kickstarting 2fort.. i perfer melee in the morning because i only play in a 1200x800 window when im trying to get the servers up.

glad everyone had fun.. shango did it right.. every 2 min he voted it.. and let the people decide.. the goldrush body count was EPIC..

I do it all the time and still sux0rs at melee....and every time Timmah! hits me its a crit....He hax or doesn't support euthanasia!! One of the two.

what i suggest is ....best of 3 with each class...its not that it would take all that long.. that way it is not just a heavy slug fest...or medics with uber saws infinitly ubering eachother... the wheels are turning people ...haha

haha, timmah, this was a FULL SERVER melee, i would throw up a vote every few minutes or every time 2+ ppls joined, and then if it was above 50% (always was) i would keep melee and punish anyone who didnt follow suit.
only about 4 ppls left, but they were quickly replaced :D

Astro If I'm on and there are less than 8 to 10 people on the server cuase I'm trying to get it to fill up. I always suggest melee only. Then I proceed to get my butt kicked at the rate of about 1 to 4 kpd :sign0081: So if you see me on any day before say noon when we generally fill up come get some

astro, just get on when you can and be like "Anyone up for melee action?! OH MY!!" and then proceed to whip out a bottle regardless if anyone else is in on it. Especially if you can get a medic to uber you while you run around ahhaha It's freaking fantastic

i wasted a whole uber....in sudden death.. just to kill 8bit with a bottle...the medic and i said it was totally worth it.. and it was a stalemate anyways.. :anim_08:

Ahaha, i would say it was worth it, i cant remember the amount of times ive ubered a sniper or another medic and run into 5 guys just for the hell of it xD
