View Full Version : Nominations for new FRS custom.
OK... so over the past few weeks, J and I have tried to load some new customs for us to play. The community really hasn't responded well to them. So I want to take a different approach. Let YOU decide. I want you to nominate in this thread a custom map that you want to play. In the end I'll take the nominations and we'll vote for it. We'll also vote for a map that's currently in the rotation to be replaced with said new custom.
Custom Map Guidelines:
- Map has to work. Won't do us much good to have a map that doesn't work.
- Must be CTF or CP. No rocketball or billiards or silly stuff.
- Must be able to support 28 players, both in size and functionality.
- Must be on FPS Banana
- You must have at least tested the map yourself, not necessarily on a server, but I want to know you've physically seen the map, not just screen shots. But have played it on a server with others would be nice as well.
- If someone has already nominated a map, there's no need for you to nominate it again, it'll make it to the vote, I really want to keep clutter down in this thread. Please don't whore it up.
- FRS players only. There's no way to police this, so if you don't EVER play on the Fast Respawn Server, don't nominate/vote, we're doing the same thing for IRS.
There you have it! Get to nominating! We're gonna give the new map and HONEST shot. Once we decide on a new custom it will run for 1 month, at that time the community will decide to keep it or dump it.

I was thinking about cp_junction myself. I only worry about whether it's a little too small/confined for such a large number of people.
Definitely be fun to give it a shot though. It's been used in pro matches before.

Thats what makes it funner!..... or more fun to be gramaticly correct.
but ya its a lil confusing at first but its a real good map

Maybe for some.
Then again, I hate hallofdeath.
EDIT - I would also be happy with twice as much gravelpit instead of a custom map. :D

Also, please NO Avanti and lose Labor. CP_Junctionv2 is also broken. A previous server I played on had it and the cap times are complete crap and Red just spawn camps the hell out of you just like Avanti. Initial cap time is 3:00min and you only get 3:00min per cap. I saw the last cap fall like once, a lot like Egypt.

Oh yeah, I second that. Black mesa is a really fun map once you learn your way around.

An array of strange rooms and stairways. A lot of spots for sniping and hiding to make this a bit less mundane than the usual maps. It takes a bit getting used to.

This looks seriously familiar. Is this an old TFC map gone TF2?

convoy is an epically good map.
I love it.
The new convoy is better though, can't stand the old convoy with only one way across (aside from demo/rocket jumping) the newer one has two ways across.
