The other one is lame. This is more complete.

THE COMIC:

In order to view CBR files, you need a CBR viewer. Here is an incredibly simple and free one: http://www.geocities.com/davidayton/CDisplay

THE MOVIE:

The trailer officially debuted with the new Dark Knight film. It will arrive in theatres March 6th, 2009.

WTF is this about?!

Watchmen is a graphic novel written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons. It's pretty much a treatise on the philosophies of moral relativism, absolutism, determinism, consequentialism, and deontologicalism.

Why did you make this thread?

Watchmen is AMAZING. I'm a huge Watchmen fan.

movie news: Zach Snyders current cut of the movie is 3 hours long, the studio wants him to get it down to 2 and a half. His response was "I can't cut anything if I fuck this up im going to be making romantic comedies for the rest of my life" since theres soooooo much content in this book they are releasing a animated dvd four days after the movie release "Tales of the Black Freighter" which is a comic that a character in the book reads that parallels whats going on in the story.

I think it's also because Snyders is trying to appeal Moore. Moore was devastated when he saw how they butchered his V for Vendetta and Moore in an interview completely excoriated the director for doing such a crappy job.

Random fact: The music used in the trailer is Smashing Pumpkins' The Beginning is the End is the Beginning

Additional Trivia: more specifically, it's a remix. The song was originally written and recorded for Batman & Robin.

I just read the entire Watchmen comic last week when I heard about the movie and I can say it is the best comic I have ever read. If the movie isn't amazing, I will probably cry for about 4 days.

Be careful though, it's not always marked as a remix.

Original is "The End Is the Beginning Is the End"
Trailer is "The Beginning Is the End Is the Beginning"

Original is more rock enfluenced & typical of Smashing Pumpkins.

also, i think the trailer music is actually a shortened version of the combined version of the two songs. it's title, of course, is "the end is the beginning is the end is the beginning is the end is the beginning."

Its always a shame when you see a movie and you leave wondering where all the good parts went. Were they not written in or was the script sliced and diced? Or, did they just chop the shit out of the movie because some A-hole in some office decided that no one wants to sit through more than x number of minutes in a movie theater. I can sit through 4 hours of good movie any time, but 90 minutes of crappy movie feels like forever. I sat through all of the "Lord of the Rings" movies and then when they released the extended versions I sat through all of those as well. Hollywood is full of schmucks that I am convinced never actually go to movies or particularly care for them, yet they try to decide what we're gonna like for us. Its purely a money thing. Which is funny when you hear how much a movie costs to make and then the box office reciepts fail to cover production costs. With all the secondary tie-ins with advertising and merchandising (thank you George Lucas for showing them that cash cow) it never fails that they give the biggest pieces of crap all the support they can, but half of the really good movies are just kind of thrown out there. As the expression goes, You can't shine a Turd, but Hollywood never stops trying.

I hope this movie lives up to the great potential it has. Seriously, read the wikipedia link

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watchmen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watchmen)

Buy it if you can or go to a bookstore and read it.
