Official Sniper Competition Rules

--This is a round robin style tournament where a total of 36 matches will be played. Each of you will play 8 matches, one against each individual. YOU are responsible for PMing your opponents in either forum or steam to schedule your match. Order of opponent played doesn't matter.

Matchplay
-Show up promptly to the agreed upon time
-Warm up before joining the server so you do not throw off your kill count
-When you are both ready, step out of the gates and jump 3 times to indicate readiness. Once both opponents have jumped, you may begin the killing.
-You may use any means within the sniper class to kill your opponent before he kills you
-There is no going back to spawn for health until one of you has died.
-After a death, the killer may replenish before the next showdown.
-This will go on until one opponent has received 10 kills (not 10 points)

Reporting
-Screen shots must be taken of the scoreboard before and after the match (hold on to these until the competition is over because you may be asked to show them)
-The loser of the match must PM me the results of the match in either steam or forum the same day the match took place

Once all games have been played, the 2 players with the best records will have a final faceoff to 21 kills.

-Don't cheat, this is just for fun (and possibly a spot on the TKO team).
-Don't grief, or this may be the last thing like this we hold
-Follow the rules above, and this should be very quick and fun
-ALL MATCHES MUST BE PLAYED BY FRIDAY AUGUST 1ST. Failure to show up within 15 minutes of the agreed scheduled time will result in a forfeit unless a new time can be agreed upon.

We're coming to the home-stretch with about 2/3rds of the matches played. Manbearpig has gone undefeated through the round robin, and gets to relax until Friday.

It looks like there is a very real possibility that there will be some tied records for the second finalist. I want some input here as far as how we decide who it will be. So far I've been keeping scores so we can have a point differential be next priority to recorded wins. But since I haven't made a final decision here, I thought I'd bring up the idea of a tiebreaker playoff.

I'm against the point differential method. I suggest that if there is a tie for the second finalist, there can be a qualifying round between the competitors who tied.

My 1 point smg kills has absolutely nothing to do with what i just said ^^

Points as in kills. This is why we went to 10 kills and not 10 points. I have a spread that ranks based on record as top priority then kill death spread as second priority. Nothing to do with points given by valve.

But it will probably be a second match between the tied individuals. Eric, Jeffito and I still have to win our next matches for that to occur of course.

2pm CST is the cut off for matches. Virigoth and Jeffito must make an effor to contact their opponents or they forfeit their remaining matches.

Semifinals - same format. Contact opponent anytime tomorrow to shootout first to 10 kills. Best record moves to finals. Tied records is a 1 kill sudden death. God help us if its a three way tie after the first semifinal...

Super Cereal! im actually pretty surprised seeing as i had some very solid compitition blonde espcially stressed the crap out of me in that match but hey s'all good we had some fun made some babies and i guess im pretty good at sniping?

I loved the round robin style of this competition because I got to play everyone (sometimes twice). I can honestly say the best sniper won. You showed up and consistently made the shots. Take it in, MBP, you are officially the best sniper on Stompfest TF2. Anyone who feels differently will just have to deal with it until the next sniper competition. Sign the fuk up...
