View Full Version : In Case you haven't seen Dark Knight...
they premiered the Watchmen trailer with it

Watchmen is personally my favorite graphic novel ever written and i will go as far to say its my favorite piece of literature ever as well. The Book was written by Alan Moore (V for Vendetta, From Hell, Batman: The Killing Joke) and its amazing! It's even on Time's list of 100 best novels ever written. Zach Snyder (300, Dawn of the Dead) is directing so it's in good hands imo. Watch the trailer, read the graphic novel if you haven't cuz we got a while until the movie comes out

If you haven't picked through the graphic novel section of your local Borders/Barnes and Noble/Walden Books or Books-a-Million, check this out and definitely go see it. Also, look at the graphic novels for 300 and for Sin City. If you've seen those, you'll be amazed at what made it's way to the movie screen.

+1 for billy corgan
+3 for attractive woman w/ bangs
so, um, is it kinda like "the day the earth stood still"? because that's what it seemed to me.
That trailer was about 60 seconds to long. Still looks like it's going to be nice.

pretty much everything frank miller wrote is worth a read also check out ronin, and dark knight returns (my second fav graphic novel of all time) Batman: Year One (is amazing) and if you have to dark knight strikes again (didnt really enjoy too much)
he also did daredevil and robocop for a minute but both of those not too good imo

Apparently, you can download a 'movie' of the graphic novel from iTunes. I just downloaded the first chapter, but I haven't watched it yet. But from what i saw, it is a neat concept. They have taken the images from the novel and made the characters 'move' across the screen while the novel is being narrated. Another way to think of it is as a cartoon, but using the comic book images are photoshopped to appear to move.
For those who have not read the watchmen, then just do it! The ending had me actually gasp out loud. I don't that has happened to anything else that I have read.

hmmm. i kinda wasn't interested in even glancing at this thread, but boredom and insomnia have lead to me finding new things to do (wait, that sounds wrong, i mean finding new tv shows to watch, stuff like that...eh it still sounds wrong, w/e) so i glanced at this thread, and it sounds like i may as well give this graphic novel a try before the movie comes out.
