I suck at 2fort, sniping at least. But im practicing.

Actually, I think this is something we should do on a duel map where its completely open and there are no surprises like fully charged camped shots. Both snipers step out of their spawn, jump 3 times to indicate they are ready, then start sniping. We could do a first to 10 kills, round robin style where everyone will play each person once. Person with the best record is the champ.

Either TKO server could be used for this. First, do you agree with my map and tourney style? Second, when do you suggest? Thing about a 1v1 comp. like this is that as long as everyone plays everyone else, it can be done whenever. As long as we set the window to be within a week or so.

I'd be interested in this. A map maker could probably pretty easily make a "blood gulch" style map for this with two high canyon walls and two walls to duck behind. An extra ammo pack in the middle, and no health packs ^_^

I recommend dz_sniper_r personally, just remember for 1 on 1 you want a relatively small map so it doesn't take a week to find the other guy. Unfortunately most come with a spawn room with ammo/health attached so your gonna have to work on the honors system

Well for a 1v1 duel of any class, you want the skill to shine and not necessarily the strategy. So we should just use a duel map that is quick and to the point. The point being no cover and no sneak attacks.

We already have a few duel maps on the tko servers. A good 1v1 map would be duel_duel2. Or we could even have 3 1v1s going on at once in duel_parallel (http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/43419).

Guess it's too late to throw in my 2 cents since you've already started the competition, but I think that if you guys do this again you should use a map with slightly uneven ground... like the large area by the trench on castle3 stage 1, or have someone edit one of the duel maps so that on half the map the ground is a little uneven/hilly (but not so much that you could duck in a hole and not be seen) and then mirror it to the other side of the map so both sides are equally balanced.

I think it takes a lot more skill to get headshots on maps where your opponent's head is not always the same height when they're standing up and where you have to adjust for your own height changes while you're moving around on your own bumpy ground.
