as much as i hate when a ton of pyros are running around i think most people would not enjoy having a class limited. I think that it would create more complaining than there already is. Even though 4 pyros per side is plenty, I really dislike the idea of class limitations on a public server.

If this was during the update, I would had totally agreed to a yes. However, it seems the pyro wave has come and gone. I don't really see a point to limiting it anymore.

I voted yes right away because I hate the festival of no-talent ass clowns, but then I realized that I'd rather put up with bad pyros than listen to people complain about not being able to play pyro because some NTACs are already filling up the pyro slots. Imagine if Iron Lung were forced to play a class that required skill! :p i kid, I KID!

I dont think they need to be limited, I do think valve needs to nerf them instead of another class that doesnt need it (they already did it to demo/soldier, then soldier again, now they talking demo again) Stupid nub valve.

I voted no also, cause in less than a month we will be saying the same thing about heavies....then whatever update is next etc. I can't say too much 'cause there are never enough medics so I always fit right in!

The self damage change was not a nerf to the Solider, just made him equal to the Demo. Except for sticky jumps the Demo takes full damage from his own explosions point blank, often resulting in his death as often as the player he is shooting at. Only fair that the Solider does as well. Most Soliders simply fire at the ground where their self damage is still reduced. Demos actually have to hit their target to be effective.

voted yes for the one reason that i get incredibly pissed off at sometimes logging on and having an entire team of 8 pyros, totally useless and renders the game much less fun IMO medic hadnt been abused as much and went by way quicker, i still log on to see like 6 pyros per team sometimes and it just gets to me

Because no one ever plays medic. In all honesty i've played rounds were no one would go medic (not even myself caues im sick of taking the Initiative to do so) and well no one frankly cared. Although it got stupid seeing 4+ medics on a heavy. In the case of pyro's the game is losing it for me. All you really need now is 4+ Backburned pyros to flat out rush everything be it offense or defense. instead of limiting the number i say deny the noob backburner.

I say give the tf2 community more time to settle into the new update. The medic was horrible at first then slowed down to what is needed in a good game and finally is back to where it began with a few more medics total. Once the heavy update is out there will be 10 heavies per side and the pyros will settle back out. What to do until then, deal, spies can still get through generally, just need to be more cautious.

Whilst iron lung has a point, i've gotten much better at heavy because of this, i say yes, limit the pyros, while i do know how to kill goddamn pyros, i cant kill 3/4 of a team's worth of them.
Hence until this settles down i will be filling servers, responding to calls when an admin is needed, but i will not be playing as much, im getting sick of seeing pyros every-%^&$%ing where.

meh having a bunch of snipers is more of a teams way of shooting themselves in the foot, as long as the other team runs through sewers and gets inside the base any class played properly can deal with a sniper

I have some reservations, but I agree. Limit everything to 4 (3 is pushing it IMO) - 4 engis on defense works well so long as the rest of the team is aggressive.

I think that if you all start limiting everything you're going to be faced with a lot of team switching so that people can play as what they want to play as.....which will cause another headache of it's own.

I think limiting Pyro's for the short term is a good idea... I don't think anyone would argue that they are retardedly over powered at the moment. Once Valve fixes them, then lift the limitation. More than 4 pros on a team is just retarded... only reason people are playing them is because it's easy kills.

I voted no. I know alot of people have strong feelings about pyros being too powerful now, but wide open team configuration allows for 1-class rushes, which usually end in failure, but whatever... I remember before the update we'd sometimes do full-team pyro rushes for gravelpit's A cp. I think if a team wants to send 8 pyros out, then its the job of the other team to counter with a class setup of their own. What would you have done against a pyro rush before the update? A heavy-medic in the back, a couple pyros at the front, demo/soldier in between, and maybe a sentry off to the side (I'm imagining the 2nd cp of Dustbowl here). I remember dominating almost an entire team that went all pyro against this setup.
Besides, if a team is dumb enough to have 3 snipers, 3 spies and no engies or medics, they don't really have a right to complain no mater what the other team sends at them. A crappy team setup isn't something you can avoid with class limits...you need people with brains to do that. And I agree, there would be ALOT of QQ going on.

I voted yes to the 4 limit as well. But I have to give Timmah credit, that comment killed as much as a 7 Pyro Gang Burn. LMAO.
I voted yes. Too many pyros... Only reason I play pyro is so I'll stop being set on fire... If we limit it, I can go back to playing other classes :P

If you do limit Pyros though, plz limit Soldiers, Engis, and Demos as well.

I said yes, pyro swarm with an uber or two is pretty much unstoppable, and if they work together that backburner makes it worse. 4 isn't that big of a class limit, but maybe there could be some sort of class differential in place, like Red can't have more than 4 more pyros than Blue.

i voted no b/c i'm against class limits in general. i also don't think that this is a good solution to the problem of the pyro being overpowered. valve is just gonna have to do something with that...don't hold your breath on that one though.

He's right, you know. All the close quarters make pyros more dangerous. Dont bother fighting them at close range, move back into the open and fight him when he has a harder time damaging you.

Because all they have to do is wait around corners. Even if they don't manage to kill you, they do so much damage now that you have no choice but run for health or call for a medic (which, of course, are hard to find because everyone's playing pyro). And it's not like you're going to outrun the flaming bastards unless you're a scout - in which case you don't have enough health to survive the initial touch of flame. So on every map where you only have 2 or 3 routes between sections of the map, explain how you have a choice of fighting them at long range only when you have to go through those tunnels, etc in order to reach the next cap. For pyros on offense, there's so little skill involved: just camp.

you know a demo can do nothing but camp and get plenty of points and they don't even have to be close to the bad guy. A heavy can do nothing but camp and they don't have to worry because at the very least they have twice the health of any potential oppenent they could ambush.
Plus demos have another no-skill high payoff option.. spamming. Is it so hard to throw a sticky around the corner before you blindly trot along? Shoot a rocket at the ground around the corner.. people, USE YOUR HEADS, spy checking is free, so is expending one piece of ammo to make sure you arn't being ambushed.

I was mainly contending the notion that anyone that gets killed by a pyro is a noob for not keeping their distance, as if the concept of keeping distance from pyros is some kind of startling revelation. The problem being, of course, that a) there is an objective which requires getting through choke points, so you're inevitably going to run into pyros in close quarters. b) even if you see a pyro coming from a distance, killing them before they reach you is easier said than done now that they have +50 health to go with their speed. Hell, I've had crit stickies that instead of killing the pyro, just sent them flying at me.
But it's all good, I've been rocking a 3+ kpd lately, even though I've been switching to the bottle every chance I get, so obviously they're not giving me too much of a challenge. :D

Thats like saying snipers are overpowered because you you have to traverse open spaces, and again, getting through choke points, demos are just as potent. As far as crit stickes sending pyros flying towards you, thats a combo of bad sticky timing and a smart pyro jumping when he knows theres explosives nearby.

i guess i dont really count since all i do is snipe and dont usually have any problems with them unless they decide to beeline for me after getting shot in the face 4 times, but yeah on any map that isnt 2fort i dont have THAT many problems dealing with them since i usually play either medic or soldier, as medic run backwards and spam needles at their face and as soldier i just blast them around a whole lot. not gonna lie though they are a definate pain in my ass whenever i play demo i cannot for the life of me kill rushing pyros as a demo

Bad sticky timing? There's a mandatory 1 second delay, and I can't turn my back anymore to account for that or die from guaranteed crits. And with demos and snipers guarding choke points, there's a limitation in terms of fire rate and reloading for that very reason, so one sacrificial lamb will clear the path, and the sniper actually needs to aim well. Pyros have no reloading, a non-stop fire rate, only need to aim the general direction, and can't hurt themselves. I just miss the days when getting a 2kpd as a pyro was an accomplishment that only skilled players could achieve.

Yeah that extra +50 health is a killer. It seems to take about 3 rockets to killa pyro now, so if you miss with a rocket you're basically done, since by the time you reload the pyro will be on you and you'll be dead.
I've always thought pyros were suppose to be weaker (healthwise), since they were faster, and their flame was deadly. Now they're stronger (healthwise) then a soldier, faster, and more lethal.

Oh, and I am reasserting my opinion: No class limits. Adapt and you will be stronger in the end. A horde of updated pyros is not undefeatable, but does require strategy adjustment from pre-update thinking. This, to me, is like saying that Stinky Bikini shouldn't be allowed to play engy because he's too unpredictable with his sentries. Learn, adapt, and pwn! :sign0104:

I vote no, but I don't think it really matters anymore. Very rarely I've seen more than 4 pyros on a single team lately, but people still complain about too many pyros when there are only 2 or 3.
I do think Valve should nerf the backburner though- I think taking a drop in the pyro speed with the backburner would be a good solution. That would allow other classes to run away if necessary, but still be rewarding to the pyro for flanking and using some sort of strategy

I played against a team with 6 pyros today. It was just annoying and not fun more than anything else.
I honestly can't wait until the

2 FULL charged headshots per kill.

I wouldn't doubt it after the spy / sniper updates.

The only thing I hate about the pyro, and I'm sure all you gentlemen feel the same, is when you get the death cam and see the pyro has probably a little under 50 health left....
...that same 50 health gained by the backburner...

I think that the proposed limit should be, as a compromise, increased from 4 per team to 16 per team.
I think this is the clear solution.
