WTF? Dude specifically asked about Columbus. I posted a thread awhile ago asking about a specific model of guitar and every joe felt the need to chime in with the merits of whatever model they preferred. Besides, I've been to Cleveland and...meh.

Been to Cleveland and Cinci. Cops in Cleveland are nazis. I liked Cinci.

Yeah, that's for you TPM. :p

In for a penny...:sign0101:

Been to the airport in Cinci but only for a transfer. I keep meaning to head up to catch a Reds game. I'm not a baseball fan really, but I've seen NBA, NASCAR, we have NHL and NFL here, and I want to collect 'em all. Isn't there some kind of amusement park around there too? King's Island?

I also understand that I'll have to substitute the vernacular 'Please?' for 'excuse me?' according to my Cinci phrasebook. At least it's easier than Pittsburgh. You'ns.

Yeah, people have these things called opinions. Sometimes, if we feel we have a half educated thought that might pertain to the question asked we voice it. Obviously if he is asking about the area he has not settled on a venue, and just maybe, if the area sucks, he might want to rethink the city as well. Just a little food for thought sweetie.

Hey actually I do have a question for you - what's the deal with the giant rubber stamp thingy downtown? IIRC it would stamp the word 'FREE'. It's been like 10 years since I was there, but I think I got a picture of it somewhere.

Na man, we got Microcenter, Tons of Best Buy and those types of stores. Most everything is right off the freeways. Plus there is a decent amount of people who would be down to lan too.

I live in Columbus. Let me do some searching around the area here and I will get back to ya.

Plus we got the Zoo and Zoombizi Bay! New waterpark up here, it's awsome.

TY mgz... I want to run a small LAN outside of Indy area. Given the amount of gamers who play on SF server are either from Ohio, Indy, or Michigan, I would like to host a LAN in each state. Nothing major, just a gathering of ppl who want to play and have fun. Hosting a LAN in each state will also allow some of the gamers who cannot travel great distances to have a chance at participating. Columbus is where I was looking because of it's centralized spot to pull in gamers from all parts of Ohio. It doesn't have to be Columbus.

StompFest's home will always be in Indy. I would like this opportunity to promote LAN's in general and local LAN's of each state. The LAN scene is evolving and SF wants to be on top of it. If I can get a venue prospect, I will start looking for LAN's in that general area to see what SF can do for their community and help promoting community gaming Online and LAN.

U Frag?

im with him.
i know it would be easier for me to come, hehehe, but chicago is way more CENTRAL than ne thing in ohio.

if ur mind changes, i can defiantely let u know where to do something like a lan party persay. plus this is way more stuff to see here. prolly can even get a bigger crowd of people bc there are "party centers" that come hold 400 ppl or even more.

i got some family in clev. that i could actually visit while being there. heheh

Chicago is a no-go, unless the core members of CG wanna help out. Every time the prospect of a LAN put together up there, I am reminded of how many many (did i say many) ppl can't get along up there in the gaming community. CG is an amazing group of gamers and since then have like so many other old school communities have pretty much retired. I miss Headshot and ToBaD from CG. And it's a possibility we would be hated in other places like Ohio and Michigan. But I want to work with existing communities, and very much doubt anyone in Chicago would want to work together.

O yea! That street is definitely a no go in Chicago for anyone unless ur from over there. But going off the amount of killings that have been happening lately, it's not really safe for them either.

Oh....that sucks. Well, I'm from Chicago, and I'd be more than happy to help in any way I can. But i'm only one person so that doesn't really mean anything. :frown:
