Yesterday, July 4th. There was an incident where a 15 year old highschool girl was hit by a car, while on a mo-ped. She was pretty popular, an i knew her though the high school band. We were friends but we werent that close. I knew something was wrong when they called a pastor of a local church to the scene. At this time i didnt know what or who it was about.

She died about 15 min after the pstor got there. The fire dept. had to go bleach and wash the road later. i did not go to that, only certain people went, people that didnt know her.

The high school band didn't march in the parade, in memory for this high school girl. First time ever.

I just wanted to share this, cuz your life can end at any moment. I got in an accident last month where i could have died. But somehow i didnt. You never know where your life is headed. Please live life to the fullest ever min. This has plly been the worst year in my short life. and i have made a strong effort to begin doing just that. and i hope everyone would too.

PS: i left the girl's name out for legal reasons, i dont know if there is an article out yet, if there is then you can find out from that.

Anyone that rides a moped is kind of asking for it, if you ask me.

Experiencing things like this or not, don't come here posting something like this and expect all lovey-dovey remorseful replies.

Just saying.

And no, I'm not in a bad mood. The Twins are on a hot streak and I saw them whip Cleveland's ass 12-3. I just don't bawwwwwww as easily as some people here.

Ya that does suck, but I can kind of understand why astro said what he said. People don't feel the same feelings about someone who died that they don't know. Because after all, people hear about others dying from the media and have grown acustomed to thinking "ok another dude died"

I feel for you and her friends, because last year a friend of mine died in a car accident.

Sounds like you're speaking from experience there, or is that a baseless claim?

Sorry to hear about that Ikem (Zachs). Sounds like you have had a pretty rough year but it also sounds like you are realizing life is very short so you have to live life to it's fullest in whatever way that may mean to you. It may not mean living adventurously but more like don't take any day or anyone for granted. Tell loved ones and friends you care every time you see them, have a happy day instead of being grumpy ya know! That's a tragedy but you will get through these tough times. Keep your head up

If you don't care about it then move on to the next thread and don't post. I don't see why anyone would post an obviously insensitive comment when Ikem made it clear that he knew the girl.

And why would someone who is riding a moped be asking for that? Doesn't make much sense.

Because they are dangerous vehicles and anyone operating such a vehicle without the proper training is definitely asking for it.

Yeah life can end at any moment. It is inevitable.

One day I went to the store to get my paycheck cashed with my at that time GF.
I came out the store to see a van on the other side of the road trying to take (in their perspective) a left turn.

Two people on motorcycles were coming straight down the road towards the van, a chopper-style and a crotch-rocket-style bikes, the chopper passes by the van first. The van started to pull out in front of the crotch-rocket, and thus the motorcycle driver NAILED the side of the van.

The MC driver went over the front of the bike, planting his face into the van's middle passenger window, cracking it, and finally landing on the ground.
The bike was pretty much straight up, on it's front wheel, because of the momentum before falling on the ground.

I remember running in the store and screaming to call 911, that there's been a motorcycle accident, and then bolting out of the store across the road to help. By the time I got across the road the guy on the chopper was already pulling back up after doing a U-turn.
He jumped off his bike, letting it fall down, screaming his buddies name in horror, asking him if he was alright, and the CR driver was not responding or moved(I would think he broke his neck.).
The guy in the van, and his wife/passenger were both already out the car crying like mad people, saying "I didn't see him coming" over and over.

About 1 min later fire-rescue showed up, as well as 6 cops, and then a couple more mins rolled by till an ambulance showed up.
I stayed and helped make the police report, as well as my GF and many others who saw it.

I left, and never checked into it or was called by the cops to help w/ the case, so IDK what happened to the state of the CR driver.

I must agree, despite the personal view you have on it(knowing her), that IMO riding a moped/motorcycle is asking for it.
I tried riding one when I was 15 and almost got slightly injured, flew off the front bc I used the front brakes and then the back(der der der).

At least when you're in a car your own risk of death is at least somewhat lower, and in the case of what I saw it would (if the CR driver was severely injured/died) have saved his life(but maybe would've killed/hurt the van driver)

IDK, life is going to kill you at some point in time. Enjoy it while it lasts.

i have to agree with astro and EF on this one those moped things are completely ridiculous, some kid near my house caught a blow out going 40 on his moped and damn near killed himself, theyre loud unsafe pieces of crap that should just be taken off the market if you ask me. riding around in cars is dangerous enough as is we dont need 15 year old kids riding on around on these things to top it off. now if the accident was either the girls fault or the car drivers fault remains unsure but one thing is certain anything can happen when people drive big heavy heaps of very fast metal

unfortunately people can be taken away with little or no warning. there's no escaping what happens, but there's only accepting it.

i'm sad to hear that. even though before she even lived, she died, she left a mark on at least you.

Taking a risk? Yes. Unwise? Maybe. But asking for it? Come on...

sadly i full agree with astro's choice of words for that point in particular, yes riding those vehicles are asking for it, its harsh to say and doesnt exactly mean people with mopeds deserve anything in particular but yes, i believe "asking for it" would accurately describe people riding those things

i'm sorry but Astroblack? please f**k the hell off man? someone posts about someone they knew dying, and by the looks of it you are TRYING to be an unsensitive, provocative s**t, yea your point about the mopeds being dangerous is true, and i agree with it, but you dont have to be such an ass about making the point, i mean, would you like it if someone that you knew died and we all acted like such a dick to you? no, so don't be a dick here, you don't care? don't post.

Zachz i know how ya feel, a guy i knew who went to my school; he was hit by a car on the road that runs right past the school, the driver was doing like 50 and shot round a corner and hit into him, died almost instantly...

sry for your friend man.

Astroblack... seriously, you need to shut the *^#$*^#$*^#$*^#$ up. I don't know anything about the girl or the circumstances, but I'll say this: a girl that I worked with about 6 years ago died in a car accident and even though I knew her about as well as ikem knew this other girl, if someone had told me to my face that she was "asking for it", I would have knocked his *^#$*^#$*^#$*^#$ing teeth out without a second thought. No one expects you to post condolences or send flowers, but have a little *^#$*^#$*^#$*^#$ing respect.
