I am taking my 9 yr old son and my 11 yr old nephew to their first concert tonight. We are going to see Weird Al. It got me thinking. What was everyone's first concert? I figured we would get some interesting responses. Mine was Huey Lewis and the News. I know kinda :sign0003: but I was 9 and my Mom asked me to go. :party0045:

Don't laugh....NKOTB...New Kids on the Block. I was 9 I believe and had a huge crush on Donny. I even had the wrist slapper bracelets and the Donny t-shirt. I went with my bff at the time and our moms.
What's sad is that I'd so go to see them in concert today...especially since they are on tour again!! There I said it. :anim_07:

I'm jealous. I haven't seen them yet, but I would like to.
My first concert is a subjective matter. I saw Elton John when I was about 4. He was playing at Cobo Hall and my dad was a Detroit Cop at the time, so he got us in.
The first concert that I went and paid for myself was Ministry, Helmet and Sepultura. That was a hell of a show!

First concert? I was 14 and went to see Sum 41, I got kicked in the kidneys and peed blood for a week afterwards, not a great memory. They sucked and I had to piss blood, bad deal.
However, I went and saw Radiohead in may, and I still have dreams about that concert it was so good.

Before the age of 12 I had gone to a many a concert, mostly young-country crap my parents liked(early 90's crapola).
First concert of meh own choosing- MSI(Mindless Self Indulgence), before they came out with any of the crappy stuff you could attempt to call "music", I think a lil after they released FGWSSS(frankenstien girls will seem strangely sexy).
Took a bunch of nutmeg(you can look it up, not going to explain) to "have a good time" sort to speak, got a headache from running around headbanging.
Was 15.

My first show was Ozzy Osbourne - Diary of a. Madman had just been released, Def Leppard was the opening act. Sometime around 1980 or 81. It was between my Junior and Senior year in Highschool. It Rocked. I almost went deaf.
in 2001 I wen't to my first concert.
It was Mudvayne right when they released The Beginning Of All Things To End. I was right up in the front row it was baller. And L.D.50 Was probably my most listened to album EVAR so I had a hella awesome time.

LD50 is the greatest. Love it. IDK, I watched some live vids of them and they seemed not as good though.

Hrrrrm first concert.
Well other than Sharon, Lois, and Bram or Matt (French singer) when I was a kid. I would say that my first REAL concert was waaaaay back in 8th grade which I believe was 1998. I saw No Doubt, Civ and the Vandals at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, Ontario.
The gardens may be old but there's a lot of memories there. I think I saw my first hockey game there too. It was 1997 and it was a playoff game between Chicago and Toronto. I remember it was amazing to hear 45 000 people say "Oh SHIT!" all at once as Doug Gilmore missed a shot on net.
Good times at the Gardens. Too bad it's closed now. Still standing but closed last I heard I think they are turning it into a Loblaws :(

The Vandals always put on a good show lol, i've seen them a few times
Oh and I MUST add in because I was just listening to this song~
At Mudvayne shows they always play Dig last and when they played Dig the ENTIRE floor was nothing but a giant mosh.
Shit was insane.
i think it was mustard plug when i was in 6th grade

hell of a good time tonight
I was probably like 12 or 13 when my dad took me to see Alan Haynes, a texas blues guitarist. The age limit was 18 since it was in a place where they serve alcohol but my dad knew the guy who owned the place so it was ok. I got a front row seat too :D
A couple of years after that, my dad went to the states with some of his buddies on a concert trip pretty much where one of the shows he went to was with Alan Haynes. He had brought a picture of me playing at a concert in association with the music school I go to when I was 13 ish. He remembered me from the show back in Norway and signed the picture as well^^
