I switch my monitor with my bf last night and since then, i wasnt able to get on the any of the sf servers.

i kept getting an error " tables differ from the server" (or something like that)
what does that mean, and would it have anything to do with switching the monitors.

from lg W2252TQ-TF to samsung 19 930or 943 b something.
(just for the time being, he using my ps3 w/monitor)

Have you tried rebooting your PC?

that just means an update was released and you're running a different version than the server. Either you needed to reboot steam and let it update or we needed to update our servers.

Yeah, the monitor switching is just a coincidence. It usually just means that either you or the server is running a non-updated version of the game.

sorry i couldn't reply to your message, i was going to tell you to reset your steam, then your computer if that didn't work. it more than likely needed to install an update so you could play on the server like everyone said.

Yeah, the monitor switching is just a coincidence.
Yeah, a coincidence like when I had a power failure, it fried my came/w/case PSU and my monitor, didn't find out till I got a new PSU. Monitor brightness output was EXTREMELY faded.
Yes, I have 3 surge protectors, I'm paranoid like that...

Trin, sorry I didn't get to respond to you when it had happened. I was AFK at the time. Anyways, I had the same problem, just quit out of game and reboot. It'll apply the update and you'll be able to reconnect again. Like E said, it's because the servers were more updated than you. Tables probably refers to the files that contain variables to govern the gameplay. Just keep it in mind for when the next updates come :)

Trin,

One thing you can also do in this situation if it's not working is go to the game properties in Steam (just right click on Team Fortress 2 and go to properties), and then choose the "Local Files" tab. Select "Verify integrity of game cache", and it will check your local files against the ones for the current version of the game. And it will correct any changes that need to be made, including any official map changes. Sometimes I will get a message that says, "Your version of cp_dustbowl (or whatever) differs from the version on the server." Verifying the local files on your computer will get this message to go away, too.
