Map Start Message

So I've noticed a minor annoyance in TF2 wherein that map start popup message thingy stays up for too long. If I recall correctly, I used to have this problem, and then it went away, and now it's back again. I'm referring to the message that basically says "You are now on team RED. Stop the BLU team from capturing your control points" (or something to that affect, depending on the map and the team). Sorry, I don't know the official term for it. Anyone know if there is a config/cvar option to shorten the time it's up or eliminate it entirely? I don't really need to be reminded what it is I need to do; and having a big message blocking my view when I'm trying to pwn some newbs = do not want.

God I HATE that!!! It did it last night when we were on ctf_well. I really do hope there is a way to get rid of it.

happens to me sometimes too... very annoying. I believe this is simply a glitch with tf2 and there isn't a thing we can do about it

ya, i was hoping i was stupid and didn't know the button to turn it off. sometimes the fekkin' thing lasts like 2 minutes. *shakes fist*

Ummmm. Yeah thats why I can't hit the broadside of a barn when I shoot at people too. Yeah thats the ticket ;)

I get that sometimes. What I usually do is hit the button that takes you back to map info (I?) and when I get back it's usually gone. Change team/class screens with cancel might work too.
