well they did confirm they were announcing a new GAME, not an addition. If it isn't D3, I can only imagine it's a standalone game branching from WoW

D3 is gonna suck unless they bring back the team that made D2.

The team that made D2 wont make D3 unless they are part of Blizzard due to copyright laws and I doubt they will be coming back to Blizz. And the joke team that added to D2 will not make a good D3.

Diablo II had a certain Goth feel to it. Not only was and is an amazing game, but everything fit the right way... until the 1.09 patch when they made uniques more powerful than rares. (Remeber the rares! rare lances with life and mana steal were the main power weapon for barbs! the quad topaz armor for better drops during diablo runs... oh the good old days.)

then we found the cow runs... oh the humanity!


however, the new one doesn't look like it fits the appropriate successor :(

i doubt it will, they intentionally stayed away from the MMO, they wanted to keep it an Action RPG since there aren't really many out there anymore.

With many before the reveal buzzing about a potential Diablo MMO announcement, we had to ask: was there ever any thought to moving Diablo away from its overhead action-RPG roots? "It totally crossed our mind but this is the game we ultimately wanted to make. Obviously I love MMOs, I think it's a great genre, but that doesn't mean that other genres aren't great too. I actually see a huge opportunity in the action-RPG genre because nobody's really doing a lot of games in that genres and I don't understand why, personally."
