2fort needs admins. Turbo has been there since the beginning. People love him. I also think he should be lvl 2 to start with since lvl 3 is really pointless. He can handle it. Nom Nom.

I agree. Turbo rocks. Especially his mad melee skills, and great voice-chat humor. :) CHEERLEADER!!!

Niceguy, funny, draws people in (including myself) Seeing that lvl 3's can kick i say give him lvl 3, has he been on the fourms? If not he needs to do that. :)

His mad skillz make me look like a noob when I play against him and it's humiliating, but he says "Timmah!" better than anyone, hands down. For that reason alone, I say 'yes'.;)

Yea, i approve, Turbo would most likely be a good admin and admins ARE needed at the moment, if he want's it i say we should let him be admin.

I was in 2fort with him and said he should be an admin there. I told him I would recommend him and he said cool and thanked me. I'm assuming he's interested.

Well there's tons of support for him, and it seems he'd be backed up by the general public. But since we all have admin in each server, we've decided to spare Turbo the burden of adminship for now.

Super cereal?

I have almost 1000 hours of game play on SF. I have stayed true to Stompfest since i started playing this game. I bring alot of players into the 2fort because i am good at the game and they keep coming back (ManBearPig). 75% of the time on 2fort there is a hacker or someone spamming etc. and there is not an admin in sight.

Theres no reason why we cant both be admins.

And remember im not the one who hacks or starts my own servers...

I will post my reply in your app thread.

Bring a subscriber has nothing to do with it, but it does help....
It really comes down to one factor.... I have noted from past experience that if your forum activity is not high chance are you will not know whats going on in terms of day to day admin related issues. Our private admin forums are really busy now that all admins have to admin all server. You have around the same post level as some of are "less then stellar admins" ie longhorn, your momma, and about 4 other. In the end it came down to a simple factor your join march 17 2008 on the forums and have less then 30 post for far, manbear has joined in may and has 3x your posting... which in my view translates to he will be in the forums more which means he has a great chance of seeing what i type in terms of changes and carrying out anything important. Currently as it stands we cant have you as admins cause we are doing alot of backend admin related changes and i need admins who are forum trolls and will help in the server and take part in the forums. Now that's not to say like we cant revisit your admin application after x weeks where we can all really see you have picked up your forum participation other then the forums activity low i gave you flying reviews in everything else but sadly being an admin on SF means taking part in the server and the website aspect.

Now i know there are two side to this "oh i dont post cause i dont have anything to say so i just browse" while that may be a very valid point my reply to that is "you can find something to post about, and if there is nothing you have to say start another thread and say something and see what type of interest you get on whatever you posted" taking the active roll is always a plus in my book and E's book.

I always have something to say or add whether someone agrees or disagrees

Im just not on the forums alot because im too busying shoveling people, but im going to trade shoveling for posting...

Guess i need more bark than bite, or is that the other way around?

Well, im guessing this is one of the first communities ever where forum trolling is considered "part of the job"....man thats screwed up in a really funny way.

I'm sure that posting habits would change in a heartbeat if he actually had admin status since he would have more reasons to visit the forums other than just idle chatter.
Hell, you don't need to be posting and trolling to have a good chance to see what people post. Once a day at most would be enough to see what's going on.

Currently as it stands we cant have you as admins cause we are doing alot of backend admin related changes and i need admins who are forum trolls and will help in the server and take part in the forums. So what you're saying is that you cannot accept a person that is perfect for the position of admin status only because their post was low? That's like going to a job interview and getting denied for getting a D in 8th grade.

No offense, but it almost sounds like you want admins to become something of mild spammers. I know this isn't what you want though. It just that it seems a bit unnecessary for someone to constantly post to maintain a "presence" in a community.

I have nothing against Stompfest or the people in charge, but this has just been bothering me to no end.

Late response, I know. Been busy lately.

Arkice, you're analogies and comparisons are way off IMO. The point is that the forums are considered part of the SF gaming community, and much more so than an 8th grade class is to a real job. No, we don't want people to spam, but we do want admins that will be active on the forums. If someone is already active on the forums before being an admin, then there's little question that they will be active in the forums once they are admin. On the flip side, if someone is not active in the forums, then we're talking about taking a leap of faith. Any smart "employer" will weight past behavior much higher than what a person claims they would do.

Yeah, those were off by quite a alot. Typed it 1:19 in the moring, it was dead on at the time!

I guess I have a different view on becoming admin for servers and different standards to boot.

XrazorX

as an employer id have to back timmah up on this one as well, if your looking into hiring someone or giving them certain responsibilities you dont hire them based on what they would do IF they had it, you hire them based on how they have done and see whether they are responsible/ experienced enough for the job.

now this is in no way a post denying turbo would make a good admin i believe he would BUT he needs to spend more time on the forums and less time kicking my ass on 2fort :)

lol if anyone spent time in the armed forces, they hopefully understand the difference between officer and enlisted

which is kinda what u guys are asking of turbo...he's constantly on 2fort and other servers as well but mostly on 2fort...and if he were admin, i think he'd do a great job when it comes to spammers, hackers, etc...but to tell him to post more on the forums? i dunno i also agree that's kinda strange...not bad necessarily, but odd

in my analogy, turbo's like the first sergeant and some of the higher ups are like captains...where one's enforcing the rules and the others are making them

but either way i totally support turbo as admin and based on what i've read i agree why can't him AND manbearpig be admins? (personally i feel as if appointed admins need at least 50000 points not 50000 posts)

whatever my input probably doesn't have much say but it'd sure be nice to have someone who's on as much as i'm on as admin
