So leoftw is water cooling now and it gave me a boost for a project i started a while ago

I am making my own water cooler... i know alot of people have done it but i still think it is cool.

everything is hand make except the pump. (because i dont have the money for a real set lol)

the radiator is a little different, it uses the total room temp and the properties of aluminum to cool the water, it has no fins and fans.

i will be posting pics later and you can comment.

sounds like a cascade setup.

basicly, i have seen this setup in many different ways, but the jist of it is

everythign for a WC setup is the same. water block for whatever, and tubing and pump, the only difference is that both ends of the tubing go to some type of bucket basicly. the feed line pulls water out of the bucket and runs it through the loop, and the return line sends it back to the bucket, but kinda like a waterfall over some type of metal to help dissipate the heat.

i got nothing good, nor bad to say about this setup, just try to keep it clean.
open water source is a invite to getting alot of debris in your loop. also, if you live in a dry area or what not, your water may evaporate faster than other places, so keep a eye on your water level.

ya would be interesting to see what you come up with.

also this website i go to http://www.forumapex.com/ is a great site to find out WC info, tips and tricks and there is a gallery to see what kind of setups people are running. its not just a WC site, but more of a PC enthusiast site.

btw that site is down right now as they are moving servers

well a 10 celsius drop is about 19 degrees to us americans.

that is a very good improvment.

what is that on top of the case?

explain your setup

lol i am american... i just use celcius...

anyway, the thing on the top is the solid radiator, i have noticed that the radiator is not suffecent in cooling cuz the water is getting hotter and hotter, but gradually goes down, when not under stress. so i need to redesign that part of it.

cpu block works awesomely the mount i made is bad ass and the pump is just a pump i found around the house... a 25 gpm one lol

all i got to do is find a good coolant combo and get a better radiator

thanks i hope you have better luck with yours

i am going to be making a reservoir on the side if the case, but i need a smaller pump lol. having a 12"x12"x5" reservoir would be a little large lol

added some die , so it is just water and die, i am thinking of going oil because i have a very high gpm pump so it will not be stressed.

oh do you like the custom side window lol

meh... im just down with airflow... no need for water.

If I wanna do liquid cooling, Ill just get a fishtank and install a comp in that and then fill the tank with mineral oil.

was gonna ask why you went with the solid radiator and how is it supposed to really cool anything?
