Picked up my copy last night at the local Wal-Mart. I got there about 10 minutes early and there were about 25 people in line already. By the time I got my copy there were another 25 in line after me as well.
Unfortunately, since it was released on a Tuesday (...), I am at work now and have to wait a few hours before I can play it a lot.
Damn... still don't know if I want the 360 version or the PS3 version. I know the 360 version has the exclusive content for later on, but if it's gonna be $20 a pop(wouldn't surprise me) then I don't think so Scooter. I've heard PS3 version has better load times and looks better.

i'm getting out a tad early to pick it up today, but I won't be able to play for very long. I have to test out the new servers as well as work on my speach for tomorrow as well as study for my datastructures final as well as study for my discrete math final as well as answer all of my PMs as well as keep katie occupied...

Well, I just picked up GTA IV Special Edition for 360 today. Complete with Safety Deposit Box, Rockstar Duffle Bag, Rockstar Key Chain for Deposit Box Keys, Concept Art Book and Sound Track. I have yet to fire it up so I'll post an initial review later. The Safety Deposit Box and Duffle Bag are worth the extra $30.

Ok, after a nice intro and 20 minutes of game play all I can saw is HOLY CRAP! This is no simple addition to the GTA family, it's almost an entirely different game. Ofcourse the mission based style of criminal activity is still there but the game play it's self is light years beyond GTA III, Vice City or San Andreas. I would compare it to the leap from GTAII to II but. The biggest thing I notice ways the change in camera controls.
You have full 360 camera control at all times when you are in control of the character, both in an out of a vehicle. Graphics are ofcourse the other huge leap and I would expect that being on a next-gen system. No more seeing only 5 feet in front of you and having to watch materials and objects spawn directly in front of you. I have not got into much of the physics while on foot as I don't have even have a weapon yet but the new Cover System seems promising. Stand behind any object and you can duck and cover behind it.
Vehicle physics have improved and you can do better controlled skids and 180's which is really important in GTA. The Vehicle physics have also greatly improved on how they take damge. I have yet to crash a car to comeplete destruction yet but it will take damage like it would in real life. Also, if you hit a person it leaves a blood smear across your car.
Again, I haven't played too much and now I need to jump on TF2 as the patch is out but one other thing I have liked so far is there are some buildings you can go in and out of in real time, no loading.
I'm really disappointed. While the game is beautiful and polished. It looks great and the mechanics are awesome... they just went overboard.
Now don't take this as a crying whining omg they said a dirty word kind of thing. All the other GTA's had language and sexuality and the like, but they used it with reason. GTA4 they just went overboard, it's like they put it in there just to be putting it in there. When someone says "*^#$*^#$*^#$*^#$ you, you *^#$*^#$*^#$*^#$ing *^#$*^#$*^#$*^#$!".. that's a little much... that doesn't even fit or sound right. I really don't mind profanity or vulgarity where it fits.... hell I use it myself when I'm pissed or when I tell a crude joke.... but putting it in just to be putting it in is stupid and annoying. Quite frankly I'm kind of embarrassed to play it around anyone. Maybe I've just matured a little more since GTA:SA... but I don't remember it being nearly as annoying and retarded as GTA4. Anyone else feel the same? I'm curious.
