Dude, please. Your desktop (and your apparent "programmed" GUI) is honestly one of the ugliest things I have ever seen. Do you really need to have your song information displayed twice just to remind you that you're listening to...DragonForce...and all that other worthless shit on your desktop?

Vista is hands down the most efficient operating system I've ever used. If you have hardware from 2002, no *^#$*^#$*^#$*^#$ing shit Vista is going to suck for you. I'm sick and tired of people yelling "VISTA SUCKS!" without any logical reasoning behind it. I doubt any of you remember, but people freaked out when XP was released and the HUUUUUGE (sarcasm) system requirements to make the jump from 2000 to XP. Fact is, people don't HAVE a reason to hate Vista because they are just following the Mac fanboys with the same attitude because it's "cool." I guaran*^#$*^#$*^#$*^#$ingtee my computer hardware combined with a 64-bit version of Windows Vista runs circles around your XP machine with your PROGRAMMED GUI that "does stuff" which I'm sure takes up an extra 200MB+ of RAM. Oh, and you're using WINAMP. Winamp could be the most bloated media player in existence next to Apple's Quicktime Player. Winamp was solid back during it's initial release and in version 2, but since AOL bought them out, it's just gotten worse and worse with fancy new GUIs and more and more worthless crap packaged in with the installer.

I would be using the Classic theme, too, but for some reason when I do a magical circle that is like some sort of graphics card glitch appears around my mouse cursor when I move it. It's weird, and it probably requires a format of the Windows partition on my RAID array to fix since updating ForceWare drivers don't fix it, among other things.

Thats my desktop after 15 minutes of playing with it a few weeks ago...When i get more free time and im bored ill prolly play with it some more. Its really easy to do and alot of fun. My next goal is to get 4 different wall papers on each side of the cube :D

I think Vista sucks because I can't run it with my current specs, the way I want, that is. XP sucks because I've been using it for so long it has become boring. Mac sucks because. The only OS I have yet to try is Linux, which the free part makes it win in meh mind.

Winamp is only good for one thing, and it's the reason I use it: GForce.
Yeah WMP has it too, but it looks crappier on my pc even with settings adjustments.
Even with that all media players do the same thing: play media.
Yes AOL sucks and so has winamp since they bought it, but GForce is still there.

Just reminds me of all the times we went fishing in Lake Michigan when I was a kid. Fond memories. Where did that pic go...

Depends what you are aiming to do. Browsing the web, email, chatting, photo editing.... are all very simple. When I ran ubuntu I don't remember ever installing steam. However, by now there is significant knowledge out there that you should be able to run steam/CSS/TF2 with no graphics issues. Same goes with anything else.......

I don't know if I would necessarily say it is *easier*...... but then again operating an OS is like riding a bike. If you've ridden one..... they're all pretty much the same. Pedals, handlebars, etc.

I don't think it's much, but I'm right on that edge where once-in-a-while my gfx card and/or CPU can't quite keep up with the game. At the very least, I think, it takes up some memory.

Ubuntu is one of the easiest OS there is to use. That being said it is one of the most difficult. For an everyday user linux is not the most ideal OS because there is less support and general knowledge of the OS. Also there are not many programs made for it etc. etc. But if your any good with computers then Ubuntu is amazing because it gives you so much freedom and it uses less then half of what windows does..and you can run css, tf2, and all steam games and you will prolly see a very slight increase in fps. Right now i dual boot with Ubuntu and XP. I use Ubuntu for photoshop, programming, benchmarks, etc and i use XP for gaming
