I finally found out today why my internet connection has been going to shit several times a week for the last few months. It seems that Charter has been upgrading their service to allow for more bandwidth per customer! I was pleasantly surprised today when I called up Charter again because I heard a rumor about the upgrades, and sure as shit they upgraded me from my old 10Mbit/1Mbit to 16Mbit/2Mbit for the same price. Additionally because it is a "new" service they gave me a six month introductory rate of $20 less a month than I was paying before. If my student discount can still be applied that means I will be paying roughly $35 a month for 16Mbit!
