Actually, the 8800GTS 320MB and 640MB cards are the old G80 chip. The 8800GT and the 8800GTS 512MB are both the new G92 series. They have a couple of different chips with in the G92 family with different numbers of Stream Processes. 96 for the G92-150 in the 8800GS, 112 for the G92-200 in the 8800GT and 128 for the G92-400 in the 8800GTS 512MB.

That is why the 9800GTX got mixed reviews. It's the exact same thing as the 8800GTS 512MB just with higher factory clock settings.

I'm sorry Dianne, but THE greatest video card at the most budget price is this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127306&Tpk=NX8600GT%2bTwin%2bTurbo

Simply AMAZING.

I still love you though!

no u

seriously $90 is nothing for something that can play TF2 on 1280 x 1024 resolution, textures on high, shaders on, etc.

No, you. ;)

And indeed, that is a very nice card to utilize for the cost. I'm still rocking it with a 7600 GT.

lol @ use of my bird's name :P

Indeed, now sell me your birds.

I'm thinking of grabbing an EVGA 9600 GT. Its should be good enough for whatever I throw at it.

I've had a bad experience with the EVGA 7800 GT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130035&Tpk=eVGA%2b7800GT). I put it in my computer perfectly fine, and after I loaded it up, when idle, the core temperature was 106 °C. I kid you not.

Dunno if it was the card or the company, but I'm just saying.

EVGA are usually super stable, you sure it was EVGA. check the model # on the card, rather than what the box / sticker says. newegg has actually put a chaintech card in a EVGA box for us once.

then we never ordered from them again

regardless there are lemons among video cards
