I must say these video cards look amazing. They are pricey, but for a dual platform GPU. Sexy!

This card is ownage on SLI supported games, but not much better than the 8800 on non SLI supported games.

You can easily get 120+ FPS on UT3 on 1600x1020 (something like that) resolution, where as the 8800 gets about 80.
But on non SLI supported games there is only an 10 FPS difference.

500 + dollars is pricey though :( the card is also freaking huge.

2 9600 GT's for less than the price of one 9800GT? Is 20 frames that much more important?

I'm poor. 9600 SLi it is.

I'm used to having a dual monitor setup so SLI is out the door in my house :\ I originally purchased my computer without proper SLI knowledge and bought two 8600's to run together. After playing for a few days and missing my second monitor, I sent the both 8600's back and traded them for a Evga 9600GT 512mb. Not only did I get my second monitor back, but the single 9600 kicked the s!hit out of the dual 8600's :)

Back on topic.. I'd love to have a 9800, but the price is way out there and to be honest,, I can run any game out today with a single 9600 and I can easily deal with the 20-25 framerate difference between the 8800's and the 9600's.

9600 is a great card with the new chip , If you use higher resolution that is where you see the biggest difference from that card and the 9800. I think it was call of duty 4 the 9800gx2 had 74% gain over 3870x2 at 1900 x 1200. I was shocked to see that. The rest of the new games was a lot closer the 9800 had a lower % gain over 3870x2 . The 3870x2 currently has the best 3dmark beachmark, But in real gaming the 9800's smoke them. Havnt see to many real gaming test for the 9800gtx sli or even 9800gx2 x 2 sli

Define real gaming, or is this a concept that you came up with?

BenchMarks vs real game play "Real Gaming" It is no Secret ATI tweaks their video cards for Higher benchmark scores. Oh i got over 20000 3dmark with a ati card but your frame rates are lower when you play the new games

hmmmmm, you mean to say that nvidia hasn't done this, I believe that the reason why futuremark, had their own official drivers, was because of nvidia, and their underhanded techniques to get higher scores.

JJ I understand you are a big nvidia fanboy, and Ive tried nvidia's chipsets, and I cant load an OS without blue screening. I also can't see how they think they will keep making lackluster chipsets, for intel after they promised SLI to them, back in the 975x days.

I predict Intel will deny nvidia the rights to make chipsets for the upcoming processors, thus causing SLI to die the death it deserves.

Don't play with Chipzilla, or else you'll get the bull. Also its sad that as competitive as AMD is with Intel, they are talking to them rather than nvidia.

Really there isn't much difference between the 8xxx series as compared to the 9xxx series cards.

Also, where is nvidia's dx 10.1 cards at, they didnt do it with the 9xxx series cards...

Testman i knew from your first commit that your a ATI fanboy. That really great. I have used ati in the past many times. 9800xt & 1900xt good cards just bad drivers. I am sure nvidia looks at those beach marks as well. If they didnt they shouldn't be selling GPU in todays market place. I look at purchasing a pair of 3870x2. Guess what no matter what they do, plain & simple Nvidia has better cards. Ati has a awesome middle market Card no question. tight budget go buy a ATI. My son has a 2600 pro 512 right now he loves. But if you want the best i would buy a pair of 8800 gts or 9800gx2 or a 9800gtx. You should go read articles from the makers of direct x 10.1. it is awesome technolgy just wont be used till about three years from now. I think Nvidia will have a card out when it is time to utilized it. I will say ati current drivers are getting better frame rates in vista than nvidia in a lot of games.
