I think there should be some sort of yearly subscription, along with perhaps a half year subscription, along with the monthly subs.

Since the subscriptions currently are just monthly, here is what I'm thinking you guys could do:

At the same subscription page, and under the top two monthly subscription entries, add these additional entries(along with spelling/grammar edits in bold):

Yearly Advanced Subscription ($109.99/or99.99)(Market it as: 1/or2 months free/off)
-Reserved Slot
-Delete Own Posts/Threads
-Open/Close Own Threads
-7MB Upload Limit
-750/650/or 600 Max PM's
-30 Max PM's Per Send
-Ability To Set As Invisible
-Custom Title
-Greatest Prize Chances
-Server Immunities

Yearly Basic Subscription ($25.99, Market it as 1 month free)
-Reserve Slot
-Delete Own Posts/Threads
-Open/Close Own Threads
-6MB Upload Limit
-550/600 Max PM's
-25 Max PM's Per Send
***Need to edit "cutsom" to "custom", see line below***
-Cutsom Forum Title
-Greater Prize Chances
-Server Immunities

and of course keep the following:

Advanced Subscription (9.99/mo)
-Reserved Slot
-Delete Own Posts/Threads
-Open/Close Own Threads
-5MB Upload Limit
-500 Max PM's
-20 Max PM's Per Send
-Ability To Set As Invisible
-Custom Title
-Great Prize Chances
-Server Immunities

Basic Subscription (4.99/mo)
-Reserved Slot
-Custom Forum Title
-Extra Prize Chances
-Server Immunities

Custom Forum Titles could be "6 Month" and "Yearly" instead of just "subscriber" or "donator" (I'm not sure at the moment about your titling sysem).

Or you could even rename them to:
Platinum (Advanced Yearly)
Gold (Basic Yearly)
Silver (Advanced month)
Bronze (Basic Month)

I may have missed some things here and there, and I also don't know what of the additions you can and cannot do.
I'm not necessarily suggesting prices, pm's, upload limits, I'm just showing how it could be a little better each step up, the more you pay.

Thanks,

-+- E.F.

I'm amazed no one else has commented for or against this, or anything at all for that matter.....

hmmm... got some good ideas in there. To be honest, the only reason we haven't thrown up the yearly or bi-yearly is because the big numbers seem REALLY scary to some people :)

I like the ideas though. I'll re-examine the subscription perks tonight. Thanks

I only made it because thats the way I work.

It would be easier/convenient to pay one lump sum instead of having to do multiple purchases/charges.
More work for me, you.
This way would be less for a long term sub.

I hear you on scary large numbers, but if it's cheaper to buy in bulk(and possibly more incentives), and you SPELL IT OUT/SHOW THE MATH for people(lolz, I know) on how it would be better for them to buy that sub, they might bite.

well, so far I've fixed that spelling, but that's about it :(

I'm really going to try to get to making some changes soon. It's just not on the top of my "Things to do" list yet.

Agreed, the very first thing I looked for when I signed up yesterday was just to pay up for the year.

well the way you have it set up is 4 different types of subscriptions with 4 different sets up upgrades. If I were to implement this, shouldn't it just stick with Basic/Advanced but offer 1 or 2 months off the monthly price if purchased for 1 year?

How much $$ for admin powers?

I won't abuse them often. Pinkie swear!

lol no money, just apply.

Honestly if you really wanted them, there's a chance you could get them. Depends on what server. You've been here for ever :)

not really up to me. it's up to the community though. I just give the final yay or nay :)

But then I would be ethically bound to do no evil. Where's the fun in that!?

Well, I was keeping the basic/advanced, just with added title of yearly, thus making it 4. I don't know how much the features cost you guys(storage, etc.), well, it was just my idea of things that could be offered, not what you should offer.
I really just wanted to get to: paying a lump sum for a year or half a year, even if all I get is a reserved slot and custom title. And it would have to be cheaper than a whole year of month by month pricing.

That's why I posted this!

I havent subscribed yet etc, but that is a good idea, many people (i know i do when i subscribe to things) look for the quickest option with the least hassle that seems like a good deal (1 year for example).
you dont have to keep worrying about renewing it, it's cheaper than to keep renewing it (if you gave the half a month off or whatever) and, well isn't that enough reason to go for the year?
Good idea EF.
