Halfwits picks are definitely interesting. I like them actually.

I wouldn't mind seeing impact on PRO, since I'm on PRO more, if you added it to rotation I'd have to make visits to the rotation server.

adding impact to the normal server, and re-adding well to both servers. also removing 2fort from normal server for now. May re-add if people complain.

Arenaball is gimmicky, Meleebarn is terrible, Casbah is pretty good (recommended), basketintel looks gimmicky (haven't played this one).

Gimmicky = very fun the first time you play through, but does not hold up well over time.

I finally got to play impact today and decided that I don't like it. The large map makes it too long to get from one intel to the other. The large single exit from the intel room makes it near impossible to get out.

Arenaball owns !! period total bloodbath

Meleebarn is fun on a short timmer as a break is gimmicky

Casbah is great but than again remake old tfc maps usually are

Basketintel looks like alot of fun has a ton of replay value due to the large blood bath

Gimmicky is Ditships post ^ ( hence the j/k )

I really like warpath_final, I've played it on another server and it fixes a lot of the pains in the butt that are on the current version.

I'm getting bored with the current maps, I've been playing more on other servers just for some variety.

I'd really like to see some new maps in the rotation, even if they're not as polished as gravelpit or dustbowl.

Meh, everyone goes through a boredom phase. They all still come back to the Stompfest because it feels like home. Ol' Faithful for a good game of tf2.

Convoy will make the hamster in your computer die...or seem like it's dying. Seriously, I played that earlier and I thought my computer was going to implode from all the lag...granted it's an older computer I've never had any lag issues like I had in convoy. It is a cool map however.

This server is pretty neat in that the room right before the intelligence is a freezer that will basically take health away from you. It adds a slight level of difficulty which makes it pretty fun. Pretty straightforward.

Stronghold is good, but some people dislike it ... 8/10

Mach is mediocre, has some odd design decisions, 6/10

Studio looks great, really want to check it out

Quarry is turtle city, 3/10

Vikings might be great after some edits, right now it's 3/10

Here is my only issue with that map on the 30 man... it is pure eye candy outside... i dunno if most people have a good enough gfx card to handle it...

I downloaded that ctf badlands map and it looks pretty cool. It's a pretty big map though, and there are some rooms that are just...useless.

Looks like it would be a lot of fun though.

I talked about this some with halfwit last night. He expressed that one of the reasons you don't have as many custom maps is because you want to keep the traffic high -- and the standard maps draw in more traffic.

If I might suggest, then, can you do a regular rotation of the custom maps? I think everyone's getting tired of convoy_ctf ... why not replace it with badlands_ctf for a few weeks?

I guess in general, I'm suggesting that you swap out 1 map a week on the 24 and 30 rotation servers. It doesn't have to be a brand new one, but I think this would help keep things interesting. I don't know how difficult this is on the server management end.

Thats a pretty cool idea, we will add the old badlands it just a matter of waiting for studio to get of RC4 cause still a few bugs in the map i don't like. I would like to just keep adding maps to the server base instead of taking them out. E has to edit each manually to get the short respawn and instant spawn timers to work right cause sourcemod is not really good at doing it. The swapping would be a bit of a pain.

(if you can find a "better"/"cooler" map i can added before studio drop me a pm am always looking for maps to add to 30 and instant.)

Map has to be simple and fun and filled with death. Maps that are complex like cp_science are not wanted....

Mach is growing on me -- small map, lots of killing in the center, and it's hard for an engineer army to turtle the main base due to the 'drop down from spawn' design.

This map is really sweet, I've played the betas and it's such a great remake. However, it's still in beta pending final release.

Dont think they are gonna finish that map any more. Its been the same way for the past 3 months since i first played it. But yep its a map modeled after a counterstrike map. Makes for a great battle though.

This post might not work since im doing it from work and my company has websense :( Is there any word on my map suggestion Assault? You said its in alpha but its been like that for the past 4 months. It plays great even in alpha. ROCK2 is a much better map another classic TFC map

Japan is soso at best

CP_Corporation has a bad problem with last cap point being right in front of respawn on a instant spawn server it will suck and on short spawn it will still suck i have played it several time same story every time last cap becomes a spawn fest

as for shock we tried it early on, the open cap B has a major fps issue for our community some have single digit fps

it is not too dark the map is perfect please play map before you type this .. lighting is perfect spots lights come on when you enter court yard the way it should. because one dumb ass on bannana post needs more light this is not true . the map could not be better.
also some maps never see alpha .. just stay in a consistant form of beta we are missing the boat on rock2 lets not sit around and wait for everyone to have it before we do no reason this map rocks period.

I played this with Halfwit last night. Hella fun map. Lighting is perfect for the map. If you brighten it up you'd lose a lot of the fun atmosphere that the map gives. Give this map a shot, I think people will really like it.

CP_DAM or CP_JAPAN <--- either one... just something new


Remove:
CP_WELL <--- to me this map is too much like granary... just feels the same, dunno tired of it I guess
CP_CASTLE <---- I know JokerZ said this is staying... I don't understand that reasoning since noone likes it but whatever.

Rock is a good map, quarterwit and I played it over the weekend.

Whether a map is alpha or beta doesn't seem relevant, as long as the map is free of major bugs. Amateur developers don't always follow the naming nomenclatures.

Thumbs up to this map -- I played it a lot in Q3F and it's hella fun. Dunno if anyone will ever successfully capture the flag on the instant server though since it's so small.

We had this one on rotation a couple weeks ago and found that we lost tons of people when it changed to mach4. We couldn't figure out why, but activity dropped pretty bad.

Beginning to think I made a mistake with wanting rock so much. Playing it with a few people(like 10-12) it's lots of fun. Full server like ours with fast respawn makes actually winning/capping very difficult. It's very easy to turtle and defend.

Plus most of the feedback I've got has been negative. Both times I've seen the server go from 30 down to about 10-15 by the time the map is over. It's been full all day today and I look up and there are 9 people on the server and the map is rock2.

Were we still thinking about putting Japan on 30 man?

Japan is on E's today list its missing the variable that lets us change the time setting so people can spawn instantly

I thought with the instantrespawn cvar that was added a few updates ago this was unnecessary.

It was, but it also throws us on the "Custom" list so nobody can find us. So I still have to go through and manually edit the maps.

BTW, this thread is being locked and a new, more organized one is being opened now.
