Does Tf2 Server work within a virtual instance? Anyone done it yet with any network load?

Basically running a TF2 server in a VMWare virtual machine, or Oracle's product. Anyone? Pointers to a server admin forum? FPSBanna?

I'd imagine it'd run very poorly.

The only reason I would guess that is due to networking and the IP stack.

In terms of pure processing power...I have a Oracle 10g installed on a VM and it is just as fast chugging through a terabyte of data. Of course, this is on a dual X server-class machine.

A couple of game-hosting companies offer pre-configured TF2 servers (was doing some research and ran across this) and it just smacks of VM.
