2k makes it so you score higher on benchmark programs also. Cause it doesn't have all that junk running in the background. O.< But if you really want something fast. Get server 2003. I did a test rig with that. Wow i scored really high on a benchmark test program. And it also ran games so much smoother. I'll make a thread about it soon with pictures and everything. If you guys want x)

Yes please!
the only reason i said 2k was b/c i know how to turn off almost everything making my box completely dedicated to gaming. back in the day i logged in as 3 different users depending on what i wanted to do; gaming, administrative work, or casual computer usage. now tho, i'm too lazy to set something up like that and try a happy medium. also i got tired of testing out what services can be and can't be turned off for xp. waaaaay too much formating lol.

Vista is way too buggy and I consider myself lucky that I still have XP.

Using Mediaplayer or something else? Doesn't seem like a VISTA'esqe issue.

Well here's what really bothers me... I mean, it didnt do it before so either an update from steam or and update from MS caused... just kinda frustrating I guess... But yeah it really doesnt affect anything more of an annoyance than anything. I dont think Counter Strike has this problem, at least I havent played in a while.
