Ok, so, I have been playing CS:S on Widescreen 16:10 at 1280x768 because it's the lowest resolution that can actually fit correctly on my screen. I remember a time long ago when I used to be able to fit any resolution on my screen, but apparently I can't anymore -- 1280x768 is apparently the smallest resolution I can get. My monitor is a 17" LCD Widescreen 16:10 laptop screen -- and I guess this means my native resolution is 1280x768.

Is there something I can do to fix it? I wanna lower the resolution to get some more fps. Here's pics of what I mean (Obviously I photoshopped the 1024x640 picture because when you take a screenshot it just shows what should be existing on the screen, but the picture there is what it looks like to me -- including the console being cut off [in game the text on the right and left sides and i'm sure a good deal of what's occuring in the game is cut off completely])

Here's the resolution I play with, which works fine:

Here's the lower resolution, which doesn't work fine:

just use some heavy duty scissors and cut off the excess portion of your monitor

but then it'd look silly when i closed it :( plus that wouldn't fix the fact that like 20% of the picture gets cut off on the edges.

change the aspect ration?

go into your config file and try making a custom resolution?

which i'm guessing has the same affect as typing -w 1024 -h 640 in launch properties, which didn't work :\ this blows
