This topic is all about your favorite maps. On a map decision system based off of voting, map favor is a big factor in the server's rotation. I'm sure that there have been other topics about favorite maps, but this one is different in the way that I request a little extra input. If everyone could post their favorite map(s) and why they are their favorite (leave crap out like "lolz its teh PWNAGE YO" because that doesn't tell anyone anything). If you need an example of what I mean, just look at what I've said about my favorites.
My favorite maps (in no specific order):
cs_office - A lot of maps seem to have one or two spots that, for the beginning portion of the round, are simply a shoot out from one side of the hall to another. Office is not an exception, however, it does seem to leave enough room for surprise strategy. In addition, even when round become the same shoot out down long and side hall, it usually doesn't go on for too long until one team begins to pull out.
de_nuke – This map is great because it applies the important factor of awareness, not only in long distance sniper-like scenarios, but also close-combat ones. This means that when you go outside, or inside, you have to always have a look out for people in all of the crafty places. These places include tower and the walkway all around the top bomb site, the vents which are especially useful in watching over the bottom bomb site, and the light above the entrance on the way to the lower bomb site which, if used correctly and between large enough periods of time, can be quite the spot. This could make you think I like this map because of the camping spots, but I also like how, once the bomb is down, the terrorist force has some interesting ways to cover it.
de_prodigy – This map reinvents the beginning round shoot outs. Unlike other maps where players simply peek a corner, shoot, get cover, and repeat, this map allows players to take nice position to ensure safety and accuracy. Spots like the vents above long hall, which can make one of the best flanks if done right, the hole in the wall to side hall that gives the terrorists a good view of the covering Counter Terrorists without compromising too much exposure, and the small building just outside of side hallway where the Counter Terrorist for has an equally useful cover spot either inside or on top of the building.
In reality, I like all of the maps for different reasons. However, there are a few maps that I always enjoy playing.
