View Full Version : 34 players?

I'd say that to mostly everyone, having that 34 player maximum is nice, even when there are only about 22 people connected. This is because no one wants to sit down for some fresh css on their favorite server and be turned down because its full. So this is a plus in that way. However, one of the benefits of being a Stompfest subscriber is the reserve slot. I dont know if this has ever been brought up before and forgive me if it has (im fairly new) but I think that more people would support the server if they saw their reserve slot useful when the server is full and they want to play. I know that on my old community, I always thought it would be nice to have one because the player limit was 24 and it was usually full in the afternoons. im not looking for any immediate changes, or really any at all. I, instead, would like to hear what you all say and especially what the subscribers say. -I myself am not so concerned with the 34 slots that I wouldn't want to support the server. I would rather just, because it became a point of interest for myself, like to hear what others have to say. Thank you for you time, the rusterino.

rusty-
thanks a lot for the input. we're always taking what you guys say into consideration.
We completely understand where you are coming from and this is why we implemented the monthly "subscriber only" prize drawings. Each and every month, a subscriber is randomly selected to choose one of our kick ass prizes. These are generally all very nice computer components.
We were maxing out our server at 34 players before we made the move to a dif datacenter. Since the move, we've generally stayed under 28 or so players. Until we start capping out at 34 again, the reserve slot is basically an un-needed perk. But it's always there just in case :)
If you have any immediate suggestions, feel free to let us know. We want to shape Stompfest to be whatever our dedicated players want (yes you) :)

hey i got another question... are the StompFest announce and listen ports open? Nobody I know can see StompFest in the master server list... which is why StompFest hardly drags in new players. Look it into that ol' chap!

Yes they're working. I found it in the master server list. I just decided to find a new community and luckily found this one lol. It was defineately, and is defineately, on the list.
-- Oh, and a response to eclyps: That makes complete sense. I hope that the server can get back to its previous status. I must say that I personally am partial to lower player numbers. However, I can play, and enjoy playing in higher player numbers. Also, touching on the subscriber prizes; that was one of the first things I noticed and I defineately think its a nice perk to helping the server. It surely is'nt one of those crap quarter-machine raffles lol.
