i know you have to be 17 to attend cpl but like local non huge lans ive never heard of an age limit

I am not positive if there will be an age limit for tourneys at the Stompfest LAN. I'll figure it out and get back to you though :)

It's certainly LAN specific, if you're thinking of a LAN closer to you. You'll have to contact staff from that LAN and ask them.

as a lan-ner - some things to keep in mind:
as E said - each lan is diff. - stomp has had youngens - mom & dad have to sign a waiver.
but - lan partys do NOT equal babysitting !!!!

if i host a lan & u show up & waiver is good - come play.
u act up - u b gone. no matter what the age is.

at big lans (250+)- meh - you've got a better chance of getting in.
at medium (75~249) - hmm - less than 50/50.
good postings in their forums is a good way to hedge that bet in your favor
smaller lans - prrettty much gotta know admin!

and yes there is age limit around 13 and up somthing like that if you cant stay at home by yourself then you dont need to lan by your self simple as that and yes you will have to have a wavier

Actually, you are legally allowed to purchase them, but it is not recommended that retailers sell it to you. That is they can sell it to you, but many won't.
