Around september i plan on building a computer so im gettin components picked out to research and case wise im split between two

First: http://www.xoxide.com/lian-li-pc-g75b-black.html

Second: http://www.xoxide.com/lianlipc75.html

Both are similar but one is slightly more expensive so i want you'lls opinion on wich one might have better cooling and potential for more add-ons

For example the first case has a slot for two power supplies (i dont plan on using 2 psu's) wich would allow a water cooling upgrade easier than the other one

Third case, this one has a top blowhole and a different design

best case I've ever had

that thing looks like it'd be a nice heater for a room in the winter. like 300 enormous fans

plus why don't you just get like a $30 case? is it really that important to get super sweet neon lights and stuff?

Kilo do you have downsyndrome, the case that Eclyps posted is probably the best case to buy, and it can support SLI 8800's at low temps w/o extra cooling etc, so trust me, IT MOST DEFINITELY is not too small. Your ignorant.

it IS a tight fit, but it's definitely doable (the 8800)

I considered the thermaltake but decided against it. the black one is steel so its around 30-40 lbs. without parts in it. i want a case with very simple clean design and layout thats spacious. all of the lian li cases i posted have that but all are similar and i wanted to know what you thought about those 3.

the only other cases i have looked at as hard as these are the silverstone TJ-03, 07, and 09's but they seem to expensive for what they offer

Kilo-

Antec 900 Series, P180 series, New Solutions Series (as big as you can get for those if you need space).

Another case I would recommend after putting one together and pretty much nutting myself in the process for how nice the case was:

NZXT Lexa. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Description=Lexa

Verynice, very clean lines and ALUMINUM for happy hauling.

And if you don't need the PSU...$100 is very price friendly.

i know im sounding like a picky bitch but i have looked at ALOT of computer cases (lookin for the last 3months) and the ones ive listed are the ones that just stand out to me in what i want in a case so i just wanted your opinion on THOSE cases

Torrin

Man, that is a nice case, but ftw? Man it is over $200!! A nice Antec 900 (I now have two of them) is $69! 6 HD Bays, 3 5 1/4 external bays, mega fans and sweet lighting (I do not care about the lighting) the 200mm fan kicks ass. Drop a Zalman cooler on it and clock the beatch up.

ThunderG0D
07-13-2007, 02:57 PM
Seriously...I would consider the Lexa or the 900 like everyone else suggests. Get the lexa if you want to be different than the norm...spending $200+ on that silverstone case is unneccessary..but if that is what you really like, Silverstone or Lian Li you can never go wrong with.

If you're curious on what I use just for shits...check this out.

i want a computer that will last me for years so i looked for one with great build quality so it would last, and spacious so it would be upgrade friendly

the lian li case is both (plus it looks exaactly like i want it)

Also, i was just saying that the silverstone was one i looked at, im not even considering it anymroe

ThunderG0D

Kilo...all of these cases have obscene amounts of room...just so you know. Space really isn't a concern in this size of tower.

My case (as you saw was a server rackmount case) has more room than I could ever imagine to do with....those new 2000w PSUs even would fit in my case, which is just redunculous.

Lian Li is always a winner...just choose any of their cases...except the one that's made out of copper...Copper case just screams out bad idea to me.

KiloOneOne
07-13-2007, 05:36 PM
why the fuck would they make one out of copper in the first place?

ThunderG0D
07-13-2007, 05:48 PM
Copper dissapates heat like woah.

But also at the same time conducts electricity like yii.

So Copper case ftl

KiloOneOne
07-13-2007, 07:14 PM
i mean wouldnt that be horribly inefficient to produce?

anyway, i know it seems like im being stubborn and stupid about the case but i want this to last a while and i have saved up a rediculous amount of $ on my own just for this ($4000+) so i want my first build to have quality components and i just cant see myself getting a different one

i dont plan on spending 4000 dollars just to let yall know (parents will probably split the cost with me)

Well, I would still look towards a lower priced case. There is no really good reason to spend over $200 bucks on a case. Buy meaningful stuff like big processors, etc.

My friend's bro bought a case. It was like 210 or 220. It will NEVER break. It's backed up as that too. When he bought it, he took it outside and threw it down. Nothing. I'd say that's worth the investment. Besides, you want your computer to look pretty too.

Thats what im talking about. Ive got friends who could destroy and anvil with a cuetip and some assurance that it wont shatter or some shit would be nice.

Yes i know having money doesnt mean i need to buy more expensive things. Part-wise this will probably be the most expensive piece of the computer for what it is. Im not just throwing money at this. Ive spent months researching RAM,CPUs, when new shit releases, etc etc

I've also been looking at cases too, as i am started to consider buying a new pc. Antec 900, like stated above, is an amazing case. I have a friend thats running Sli 8800 gtx's along with a zalman 9700 on his processor and it all fits fine. On top of that idle/load temps of the graphics cards and processor are relatively low. Actually really low for sli 8800's.

Antec 900 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129021&Tpk=antec%2b900)

After my brothers LAN party another great case i found was the Antec P180 cases. The case comes in a silver/white shade, gunmetal, or black. If you want to spend an extra hundred dollars, you can get the nifty mirrored edition (really neat looking). The case keeps your processor cold as hell. It has 1x 120mm fan to the side of the processor and another 1x 120mm fan directly above it. After hours of putting your PC under stress, graphics cards also run cool. Next is space. Unless you have like 6 hard drives this will also fit Sli 8800 gtx's easy if you remove 2 hard drive mount racks where the two graphics card go. To be honest, I'm not sure if this is actually necessary, but if you remove the hard drive mount racks, it will give you a lot more working room.

About your comment of the PSU (power supply) being at the bottom of the case. One reason why this is done is because it is supposed to help reduce noise heard from the PSU because it is farther away.

I use a black AOpen mid tower case. The model is QF50. It's the company's stock case for builds requiring ATX motherboards. I've grown to love it, so I use it. Even my home PC has that professional look to it. Remember fellas, mystery is always better. That and only what's inside counts.

I also like the fact that it has proper cooling and it works fine and it's not flashy and fancy. It has more of that "clean" look.

Now my old PC case with the near two and a half foot (hight) mountain caused me many problems with LAN capabilities and annoying size it just wasn't the right fit. Not to mention having people over criticizing the noise / flashiness of it. I did etch out a counter strike symbol on the plexy... but I'm fine without one. Maybe some day I'll order a see through panel and etch out another symbol as a secondary. Then when people come over I can just swap it for the original. :p

Oh and these cases are 45 dollars. Easy on the wallet. :D
