I don't care for Maxtor myself seen way too many of their drives die prematurely.

I use them in my samba box config'd at RAID-1. I have had 4 160's running for 3 years with no issues.

Aye sometimes you get lucky sometimes you don't. So are the computer tech blues.

Maxtor = Seagate reject drives
i personally go with seagate or western digital. seagate b/c i've never had a problem with them and western digital b/c they have some nice drives and their customer service so far has been excellent. i've had 2 WD drives die on me and all i had to do was mail it to them and they sent me a new one. once they even sent me a better drive b/c my drive was "too old". right now i'm running all WD on my main and seagates/WD mix in my other comps.
