Windows Vista installs differently than Windows XP does. Rather it has a WMI (Windows Imaging) file which is essentially the operatingsystem files that get copied to the harddrive. In the release build of Vista users will actually be able to mount this wmi file and add drivers, windows updates, and other software, then simply reburn their installation dvd to keep an up to date backup of their system. Not only this, but the install can go across different platforms unlike windows XP. Windows Vista is able to adjust to different architectures on the fly with greater ease.
