All,

Hi my name is Testman, and some of you know me, or know of me. I game primarily with what’s leftover of the FWGG people. We have parties up in Fort Wayne, and we are a tightly knit group that enjoy, more of the experience than what a lan party should be. We don’t bicker or fight about things, but enjoy the time we have together. I for one like the smaller parties, for these are the ones that people have the most fun with.

With high speed internet, a lot of lan parties have seen a decline as far as attendance is concerned, because people don’t have to tear down their machine and drive a distance to go to a lan party. The lan party is right there on the internet.

One has to think, on what makes the smaller parties that much fun to go to, and realize that it has to be done almost the same way, but on a grander scale. How about no cash prizes, or tourneys for swag, but if they did that, no one would come. I for one like the concept of doing something that hasn’t been done before or bring back the basics that made people want to jump up and bring their machines to the events.

I would have to say that sponsorship, and prizes have made some people into vultures, and without these giveaways most of the people wouldn’t come. I for one don’t care if I get the latest and greatest swag, and at the last sponsored party I gave up most of the swag to my buddy that has never been to a bigger party. In fact at the last Stompfest, I caught the many mousepads that was thrown out, and gave it to a kid that was crying because he wasn’t tall enough, or able to catch one.

I for one would like to make a suggestion, on what I would like and if there is others feel free to post below. My suggestion is to have a barbeque instead of the pizza from Donatos, and it might drive the prices up, but who besides me goes out to eat around 4-5ish on the Saturday of the party.

Please post below, and let’s make this Stompfest the best, Im sure the hosts would appreciate the input.

Thanks,

Testman
