Just saw this on Kotaku, but apparently Valve, at Activisions request, are banning keys bought legitimately. From what I could gather, keys are sold to distributors overseas and people can opt to just buy the keys rather than the entire game. It doesn't seem like there is any piracy or illegal activity going on. Plz correct me if I'm wrong tho: http://kotaku.com/5409642/valve-bans-gray+market-modern-warfare-2-keys

BTW, don't turn this into a flamewar or whatever about piracy as its against the rules and is pointless. Just thought I would share this with everyone.

At first glance, it seems like a pretty dick move.

You buy a discounted and possibly hacked CD key on a virtual black market, people tend to take notice. If it was an authorized distributor, this wouldn't have happened. I can completely see where this came from.

Well thats the thing, it appears that at least some of these ppl bought the keys legit. If it wasn't legit, I would completely understand.
