So, I was on Digg and all of a sudden my monitor goes black. I press the reset switch, I see the splash page for several seconds, then the post screen for several seconds, then the little Vista loading bars for several seconds, a black screen with my mouse pointer, and then it goes black. I waited a couple of minutes and nothing loaded. So far, I have:
-Tried booting from a different hard drive
-Used an old video card
-Used a different monitor
-Reset by BIOS settings via the CMOS jumper.
All attempts lead to the same problem. I also tried booting in safe mode and my screen just stayed black. I got into my boot menu after the splash page, and after several seconds my monitor just went black, and all my fans were working. HALP? DDDDDDDDD:

Wait, you get the same symptoms after switching the boot hard-drive....AND after replacing the video card and monitor, but everything comes up fine when first booting?

My mind is blown.

Only thing I can think of is invalid resolution setting somehow. Try a repair install of Windows.

My friend thinks it might be my RAM, since I'm only on one stick and the other stick I bought is bad, and I"m an idiot for not running memtest. He's going to bring a stick from his computer tomorrow, and we'll see what happens.
I can't do a repair install, I don't think. I tried to access my boot menu and after 2 seconds in the boot menu, my screen turns black

Okay, so when my screen turns black I mashed the keyboard and all that came up was a black screen with a blinking white underscore in the top left corner, then it would turn completely black again. After I mashed the keyboard again, same results.

Lol, triple post >_>

If I turn my monitor off and on, I can see the screen for about 3 seconds until it goes black. I was able to boot it up in safe mode, which lead to the log in screen. When I booted it up normally, I got a BSOD >_>

It's different now, but a previous BSOD mention something about "atikmdag" or something.

Either bad ram or aging/bad PSU I think.

Did you check all your cable connections? I seem to remember getting a bug similar to this when I accidentally kicked my keyboard cable, jarring it loose. Would be a lot better than having to replace a PSU, am I right?

I made sure all the cable connections were right, I even tried using my old video card with a different plug for the monitor. However, it's the same monitor cable I've been using for both monitors so that might be the case, I'll try using the one I'm on right now.

Ever had any problems with the monitor itself? I know you mentioned the cable and yes check that, but if you have another comp around it might be worth it to check the monitor on it. My parents comp was having a similar problem with an HP monitor they had and finally just had to get another monitor

I haven't had any problems with the monitor I'm using, or the other one I used to make sure it wasn't my monitor. I'll check with a third one after dinner <_<

Computer X is my computer, computer Y is the other one. Monitors A + B are the ones used to test my computer, and monitor C is computer Y's monitor. I used monitor C with computer X, and it worked. I tried both cables and it puzzled me because I thought it would be them. This lead me to believe that both monitors A and B were the problems themselves. So I tried using monitors A and B with computer Y, and they both showed the same things (or lack thereof) with computer X.

tl;dr, Out of three monitors, only one is working.
