Prizes (outside of cash) are based on sponsor appeal. Not Stompfest just going... oh my lets fuck these guys over.
The cash went up because we have more attendees than the previous event, so we had more money to give away.
Noone was explicitly hating on CS.
Barton... if you want to be a prick about it, other Counter-strike players in the community (YES CS PLAYERS) accused you and your team of rigging the votes. NOT us, not anyone else... Your CS "comrades" did. Thats why voting got shut down. There was never any suspicion on CoD being rigged, and the staff didn't rig it either. If we did, or ever wanted to, BF1942 would have won at the last one. So please stop being a bitch and accusing everyone of hating the game. We did our best at this event, and weeks prior to it, to make sure CS was going to have a Unofficial tournament.

Do you really think that SF would program the voting system to automatically add fake votes to COD ??? Come on. You level a charge like that and then admit you added your own fake votes? Boy that says a bit about (some of those whiney ) CS players. Not all, but those rabid few who refuse so play something different after several years.
Personally I would have preferred BF or CNC to Warcraft, but just becase neither had an official tourney do I keep whining about it?
Get over it.

We'll look into doing that Barton. The one thing the staff struggles with is a lack of servers. So they like to have the tourney servers pre-setup according to what wins.
We'll see about building extra servers and having the major games ready to go for on-site voting. This will also help to eliminate anyone "not coming" because their game wasn't voted in.
PLUR :)

Also guys, to clear up the CoD thing, I swear to it that noone rigged the system. I will however say that a lot of the gamers (and this is proven) choose to vote for the winning tournament in a section which they don't plan to play. So say if someone is coming for Warcraft 3, they'll likely vote for CoD if it's winning to help the majority, rather than not vote at all.
Regardless, we'll work this out for the next one.
look if they did do those voting cards and stuff how about we get an extra helper o say...
" Aura "
will take his time and energy just so people will be happier about the voting i'd love too. However just because barton feels the voting was unfair so what it is over now just slowly make little suggestions/ideas on how it could be better.
Now if i went on the mic and said " Lets all play some natural selection " people would get all like " nooo , booo" because that is how people are. Just because they don't like the game or think other bad things about it doesn't mean it is horrible. That is your opinion and that is your right to say that about a game. Sure everyone is right people have just gotten to good at it and there is to wide spread of skillz in the game that people just complain and bitch how one or another hacks. (i believe i saw a post saying they felt someone was hacking or acouple of people were hacking for that matter) I believe rebo pointed that out but it was only 1 person not the entire team or what not.
Anyways this post is getting horribly long and no one will read it now.. so anyways..
I'd also like to say great job to the stompfest crew and all the helpers aswell as the sponsers for the give'aways and many other things like that. I know people like seeing the shirts and prizes and stuff being thrown out but when i was up there with the crowd i don't believe i got a single shirt hehe. but owell it was still an amazing'ly great time.
'Great job all of you
