((joking, I know you meant about the current tournaments))

- Tournament Rules - (apply to all tournaments)

Cheating will not be tolerated. This includes cracks, bug exploitation, flooding/SPAMming, ´bots, etc. Anyone caught will be removed from Stompfest & subject to public humiliation.
Stompfest reserves the right to inspect your Game directories for cheats. Refusing to allow a Stompfest staff member this inspection will disqualify you from the tournament.
All sets are picked by random draw, unless posted otherwise
Gamers must be in signed-up 30 minutes before the start of the tournament
Name on tournament registration must match the name you use in the game. Game masters will boot any player whose name does not match the Registration list.
Rounds will start 3 minutes after posting of who is in each round. Any player/team not ready when the round starts will be counted as FORFEIT and will not advance.
Disputes will be handled by the "Counsel of Elders".
Appeals: After the Elders make a decision, only a Stompfest OverLord will hear the appeal. His word is final!
If lagged and your File Sharing is on; you will automatically be disqualified from the tournament.
If you are not present when the tournaments starts, you are disqualified. The Tournaments wait for no one!
If you are disconnect, your computer crashes, etc., you may re-join the server (if applicable), if your match is still in session. Matches will not be re-started because of one player crashing, not ready, or whatever.
All settings & maps are subject to change. Any changes will be announced before the start of the tournament.
Good sportsmanship is a must!

lol ok i guess rebo hasn't done it yet on the site.

As for the WC3 tournament, the rules / maps will be agreed upon by the two parties.
The format will take place as a 4 person FFA and top one advances. Rules, Time limit only like to keep to a 45 min max. Make or break your enemies however you see fit!!

er, correction on my post. ( the two parties ) I meant each person involved in the 4 person FFA

I would like to suggest maybe changing the tournament for war3 to perhaps a 2v2 tourny or 3v3. FFA games don't really test skill, plus there will be tons of backstabbing and cross-teaming if "friends" end up in the same matches. 2v2/3v3 with a round limit of 30 minutes, with teams either winning by total decimation of their opponents or by combined team score would seem more fair. Is there a possibility that the admins could call a vote on tournament format before the it starts.. please with cherries on top. :)

i concur with malcore, FFAs in general take no inherent skill to win and wc3 has lucky elements built into it anyways. i vote for 2v2.

also, if you guys wanted to speed up the games you might as well make it 3v3 / 4v4 to knock out the greatest amount of players the fastest since FFA games take the longest to play and all....

Since War3 doesn't really have many attendees, and it doesn't require a SF server, I'd prefer if you changed it back to 2v2 like it was at the last Stompfest. Otherwise I won't have equal prizes. I based my sponsorship request on a 2v2 like the last one.

What about Tournements for Call of Duty? I'm a noob when it comes to that, I was just wondering if you were gonna have like 4v4 or w/e. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thankyou.

Since War3 doesn't really have many attendees

I count 79 votes for WC3 in the registration section.

Say you bump that to 80 for the actual sign-up. With 4-player FFA the match will likely last 30-40 min a piece. With 2v2 the match will likely last 10-20 min a piece. Doing the math, assuming single elim and maximum efficiency, the tournament FFA-style will take 910 minutes cumulatively and 120 minutes in real-time. The 2v2-style will take 840 minutes cumulatively and 140 minutes in real-time. There's no significant time difference in running it either way.

You'd have 3 rounds for an FFA - 20 matches, 5 matches, 1 5-player match.

You'd have 7 rounds for 2v2 - 20 matches, 10 matches, 5 matches, 2 matches & bye, 2 matches & bye, 2 matches, final.

Just some food for thought. My vote is for 2v2 as well, but Epi's already made their preference known.

For the name rule on torunaments, I have a question for those of us with long names. Some games do not support long names, such as my [Epi]Giggles of Doom. Would something like [Epi]Giggles be ok? It doesn't match my registration and I don't want to be kicked off cause I can't type my whole name in.

Giggles: When you reg at the event to play, just sign up as Giggles. :)

Glacius: Some people (myself included) choose a game just to help the majority vote, not that we have any interest in playing competitively.

Jeef: Last I heard (and got prizes for) CoD is 6v6.

Bah! It is not nearly as cool and terror inspiring as Giggles of Doom!

Cool - sure, I know that, but I just needed a constant number to go with to illustrate the similarities in amount of time needed to run the tourney each way. Besides, I would think that a lot of people will vote for one tourney and play in multiple. For instance, I'll play in a CoD team tourney AND any BF team tourney that comes up. Likewise, I'm sure there's others out there that like both WC3 and Generals and other RTS games, that when they consider that there's only going to be one RTS tourney, they'll play in that even if they didn't vote for it.

I'd think that the amount of people that didn't vote for the game but will play will probably balance out the amount of people that did vote for it but won't play.

Response to name length inquery:

A : Ingame is up to you, it must match the name you give me at registration.

Rule: Registration names - I have to take down many names, on top of that pronounce them. I will only accept quick references and easy to pronounce. Here's an example of what I mean.

Wc3 Registration:
---------------------------
Hom37r - ingame name
Homer - Registration name given to me

L00zer - ingame name
Looser - Registration name given to me

If anyone has questions email me Eliasen@stompfest.com

Thanks for the clarification. I don't expect it to be a problem, but its nice to cover all the bases.

The thing about tournament voting is this... people may vote the game, but not show, or vote a game of their fav and never play it at a lan. Take the last WC3 tourney... it won the RTS vote, yet only 3-4 teams applied for it... it was really a waste of a tournament.
