Friend Needs a Ride - last minute emergency

Hello all,

One of my online partners in crime, Legacy, suffered the unfortunately disposition of having his car die on him this past weekend. As I'm totally across the country from him and flying, I have no way to pick him up :-(

Is anyone coming from St Louis or thereabouts? He lives in Carbondale, IL (far southern Illinois, for reference), which is very near I-57 on the way from St Louis to Indianapolis.

Would anyone be coming this way that could snag him? He doesn't smell funny, he'd pay for gas, and he plays one mean game of cs.

Call a CAB!? Let's see thats 264 miles, and the cost per mile of an Indianapolis cab is $1.25/mile so...
264 x 1.25= $330.00
I'm sorry but a cab is out of the question. I would never pay that much just for transportation in a cab, for it would be much cheaper if he rents a car, and he wouldn't have to shell out another $330.00 in the return trip. So that's my make-shift solution: rent a car. But that's only if all else fails.

Well, it's kinda one of those "if someone can, that's cool, if not, then better luck next time" situations, I think. Maybe it'll be fixed in time for lanwar ;-)
