In association with the iGN (IndyGamingNetwork) Area 51 is going live on 25-27th. Now most of you, well almost all of you, are wondering what the hell we've all been cooking up. The iGN of course is the upcoming Gaming Mecca of Indy website, and Area 51 will be our "Official LANParty". Let me take a second to tell you what our brilliant minds are working on.
Area 51 will be a near total immersive LANParty set to the theme of, what else, Aliens, UFOs, and all that unexplained phenomena stuff. We will be using a ex-warehouse type building in the center of Indianapolis, converting the Interior and Exterior to look much like the aforementioned subject. On the LANParty side of things, we will be holding low-entry fee parties with: Tons of free swag, Cash and Prize Tournaments, Themed Environments, Bass Pumpin Sounds (Optional), Free food and drinks (will be themed also, like Green Alien Drinks, regular food will be sold at normal cost), the Upcoming "Hive-Mind" Server PC (is not associated with Alienware's Hive-Mind), and so much more is still in the works for our debut party and the parties that follow. Imagine walking in to a near dark room with black and green lights everywhere, dry ice rolling across the floor, and decorations like no other LANParty has ever done before. Immersion is not even the word to describe this. Sound too grand? Not at all. This ain't even the beginning. Our first party is scheduled for the weekend before Halloween in October, to set the mood. We will be charging a mere 10 dollars, and you'll be getting more than your moneys worth. We plan on putting up quite a few different contests before the party for free admission. Also, big names like Hulsy, Rebo, Nuno, and Chancellor are always welcome to stop by and game for free. We also want our parties that follow to be devised by the gamers. Who wants to go to a party that has nothing you like, and everything you hate?! We want everyones input on whats hot and whats not. We will be having "CASH" tournaments, and will need input on what you want to compete in for the money. Thats all I can say for now, production is about to begin, and I don't want to give away any more secrets. You'll have to see for yourself, why this will become a force to be reckoned with. Keep checking up on www.indygaming.net/area51 in the coming weeks for more information. We expect to have a live site going with registration and what not by Early/Mid September. You can also always AIM me on xCode317 or MemphisZero for more info.
With that said, I bring to you our very first contest for free entry. We need a logo/banner... We don't want some lame arse MSPaint one either. If your interested in helping us help you, drop me an e-mail on xcodezerox@msn.com for more details and the specs. Hope to frag you fo0kers soon - CZ
