ever thought of trying other team based games a side from the buggy and inheritly annoying half life engine. just a thought to try and "spice up life" a bit

So how's about Tactical-Ops? Unreal mod that simulates CS with a better engine and more beautiful.

This sounds like a Mac vs Micro$oft post.

Oh CS sucks, how can you play that buggy game when you can play MOHAA.

Oh MS sucks, how can you run that buggy OS when you can run Mac OS X or Linux.

We ALL know there are better games and better OS's out there, but as history has shown, they more there are doing it, the more will tend to join them.

I'll make a bet some version of CS will still be the king of most LANs for at least 2 more years. Sad, but true.

I just hope UT2003 is good, I really need something else to enjoy other than CS.

Agreed, as much as I hate CS, there are still those that can't break from it, since its all they either "like to play" or "know how to play". Its a futile argument, they are already know there are other games out there, but they haven't changed yet. I think MOHAA is as horrible as CS. Slow, slow, slow. Just my 2 cents!

I think MoH is a good game, for about a month or two. Then it's so damn repetetive, it's nuts. Just like CS is repetetive, some mission every time, campers in the same spot every time... That's why I like fast-paced, not-as-realistic FPS's. Both these games are just... well... you know...

i'm not trying to complain about cs here. granted its a great idea, the realistic battles (relatively speaking), but that was... god only knows how many years. i just made the post when i noticed that yet again we have cs and ut as the tourneys. there have been soo many new games that have come out recently that i expected to see a little more deversification in the tourney standings. but all i see is cs and ut winning by a landslide, just found it a little disapointing. that and cs has such a buggy engine and causes many problems, on top of that ppl are all "gun hoe" about their cs and technical problems on top of high tentions does not a fun tourney make

That's why im not participating in CS, I totally agree with your thoughts.

im yet to play in a cs touney, to many poor sports. ive played in i think 6 total tournements. Mohaa and rtcw @mml; Mohaa @indygamers;q3 and ut @indysmash. every tournement was fun and no one complained to much.

People will play what they want to play, it can't be helped. I'm sure CS has killed a bunch of games that might have taken more prominence if it had not existed. However, you are not being forced to play in any tournament, and to not play is your choice. If you'd like to start or feature another tourney, show some initiative and talk to rebo - offer to manage it.

As far as the poor attitudes in CS, I agree. My first LAN showcased a b7 CS tourney where people were actually cordial and friendly. Ever since then it has gone downhill as people got tied up in how much money was at stake, and what league someone was in, moreso than how mature they were.

well lets see if cs is the team tourney (as always... at every lan) then that means that the other good games out there don't get a chance to have a tourney. its all kind of retro active if you ask me we all promote new technology, but when new games come along we are all too scared to change, and cling to CS like an 80 year old clinging to a type writer. and yes i could try and host my own tourney, but i have my own LAN's to worry about, stomp is one of the few times where i (and many other LAN organizers) finally get to sit down relax and participate in the LAN rather than running around like a crazed monkey trying to make CS tourneys work

magelus, you've got heart. Moxy. Spirit. Whatever you want to call it, you've got it. You are a true man. Stand tall, for you are one of the great ones.

THRASH_D86: UT2K3 is incredible. I...err...am a member of the press, and got the advance copy...played it a lot, it's excellent. If you would like to try it (if it isn't out by the event), ask me about it and I'll let you write a review for your news site.
