prizes? part 2 (NO FLAMING THIS TIME PLEASE!)

so my question has remained unanswered. will there be prizes for the major tourney? whether it will be cash or some form of computer hardware (video cards, ram, etc.), will it happen? please don't respond to this thread flaming cs or me, only respond if you know the answer to this question :)

i agree with gallow. if it is something i hope its really small not like 5 geforce 4s or something or money cause it makes people really anal about winning and it takes the fun out of it. but have a cash pool amongst the players have each player put in a dollar and then have winner take all or something.

yeah man, i mean look at those people at cpl. playing for a pot of over $100,000 and there were riots out the wazoo!... or not. a tournament in itself brings out competition in people and sometimes this affects people in worse ways than other people. adding money into the mix is just like blowing on a fire.

i agree i dont want any of my money going to a tournement that i WILL NOT play in. id like for them to ahve everyone toss in 5 bucks then u can have a big payout for the winner and maybe stompfest can give some prizes for second place or something

Barton, honey, comparing stompfest to the cpl is silly. People come to stompfest to have fun with a variety of games. Seeing as greed is a universal human emotion, it follows money wherever it goes.

Personally I agree with Gallow, money brings out petty, stupid attitudes in people. I'd go into how the CPL is a good example of this negative attitude (greed, inc, people with misguided views of how people make money), but I think we'd be getting off topic again.

This is a fun LAN where people play many games. They are not here to talk trash or cry about prizes. Personally I think the random drawing is best and gives everyone a chance to win, but that's only my opinion.
